Snow?

04nightfire: I rode that Sunday, and again a few minutes ago. The road detour is still bearable, but we need more snow. Going to be hard on carbides in a day or two. The rail bed snow also gets thinner each day, but is still pretty good to Waubaushene. There's a foot-deep waterhole on the west side of Coldwater.  ODSC is doing the best they can under the circumstances.

I stopped along the road and talked to a guy working on the trail repair. He said they've run into some surprises, and the work is taking longer than scheduled.

Good to know.  I turned around at Coldwater so did not get to see the water hole.  Hopefully the repair to the trail gets done sooner than later.  That road run will not be good without some more snow

What does the repair entail?

I'm not 100 percent sure but I'm guessing it is a small bridge.  They did two of them closer to Division road a year or two ago.

Just a little heads up,  The railbed from Orillia to Coldwater is now open. However,  there is now a re-route that they don't show on the map that will take you road running to get around a section of rail bed that is being worked on.  Rail bed was fantastic on Saturday and the road run wasn't bad but will not be the greatest with the 0 temps and no new snow.  I highlited in black the re-route.1922292561_Railbed.thumb.png.a9b80d36545cfd2d0528764ce07fbea3.png

Map show reroute now..

Eastern Ontario getting blasted. More snow for the whole province this week.  Next weekend should be beauty trails.

Yes Kennisis,  4 inches, the bays are getting slushy. Need a few cold nights to firm everything up
