    Weather

I have about 1000km in Ontario and 1350km in Quebec so far this year.
  2. All my last ones also, I run through my dealer.
  3. This is quite the trek these guys are doing. I have been following them for a while.
  4. We leave Monday afternoon for Auld Reekie. Doing 3 days of backcountry and some trails in the Gowganda area.
  5. C is open now and L143 is next. they just finally got some significantly needed snow this past week. We just spent 3 nights at Auld Reekie.

    Gloves.

I bought the Klim heated gloves last year and no regrets. I understands the muffs and thin gloves but muffs get in the way. That is why I went with Klim as they are awesome quality and I love the warmth even before I ever have to turn them on. I also do not find them stiff as brand new, they are less stiff than my 3 year old leather gloves.
  7. Lots of wind and blowing snow, visibility nil, all roads in South Huron closed. Went into field behind us and very quickly lots bearings. All the snow blowing into 3 to 5ft drifts. Fun driving down the roads with no cars or plows.
  8. That is a nice section of trail! Rode it a few years ago and plan to do it again this year.
  9. Sorry but it is an extreme sport and true athletes don't drink when participating in a competition. I want to make it home and don't need to meet a sledder coming around a corner that is not in full control. Save your drink or smoke till you get in to your lodging for the night.

    Oxygen

Just bought a Mission and can't wait to try it. never wore a Oxygen and just because of the required cord never want one.
  11. Well got my sled our for a bit yesterday afternoon.
  12. Didn't get my snow stick out yet but almost close to 12" in Exeter. My neighbor had his sled for a rip.
  13. We booked our Moosonee trip with Mylene at Follow her North On February 20-22, 2023. Getting excited! We did our last one in 2012 out of Cochrane. https://www.followhernorth.com/snowmobile-trips
  14. I have used several different styles of muffs. Last year I purchased a pair of Klim Resistor gloves. They are far better than having the hassles of gauntlets or muffs. I will likely pick up a set of extra batteries this year just as back-up in case of extra long and cold day on trail.
  15. Royal still has a presence at the show.
  16. I am not going to worry about my update till this spring. Your per cent chance of having a fire, along as tank is kept full and with stabilizer and or fresh fuel is less than 16 cases over 250,000 sleds or 0.0064%. Just ride it!
  17. We were backcountry riding last week by Chapleau in -12 to -18 and one guy in our group had an Oxygen helmet and it kept fogging up. electric shield could not keep up with moisture in the helmet. Not enough ventilation to use for off trail work out riding.
  18. Lynx on the side of road going home from 3 days back country at @valentinefarmsbnb by Chapleau. Saw two moose on the way up to Chapleau.
  19. There are elevation changes, bowls, twisting logging roads, power lines, lots of challenges. Contact Todd Broomhead at valentinefarmsbnb@gmail.com The conditions and terrain will challenge most cross over machines. Trail machines will not cut it in the back country there. The snow depth this year is averaging over 4ft with no thaw layers.
  20. We just got back from Chapleau last night. Stayed at Valentines B&B for 4 nights. Todd is the son, and we also met the dad the one night when he came out for a visit. Great times, did a trail ride to Foleyet one day for lunch and back and the other days did back country riding on the logging roads.
