We do trail patrol when the trails are open for periods that make it worthwhile as do other clubs close to us. I checked some sleds for permits yesterday when out doing trail work. We will likely be setting up a patrol stop this weekend and next. There has been few patrol stops in our area the last 3 years because there was little to no snow and trails were only open a few days if at all. You aren't going to see patrol stops riding around your farm or other private property. Seeing sleds without a permit doesn't mean as much as it used to because they can have a recent purchase on their phone or like 2 that I stopped yesterday, daily permits in plastic bags in the sled. 3

Thanks for all you do. St Clement's folks always did lots of patrol stops in past years  during peak times, when club house was there 👌

I know at one point they were forced back to work around new years start but, stated they wouldnt be servicing the states at that point. I misinterpreted what you typed. I needed the "sarcasm" sign Leonard gives Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory. :D Ski

Ski The strike is over and things should be back to normal long before now. I'm still waiting for an Ebay purchase from late Nov. '24 that was shipped via mail. Ebay keeps putting a hold on the case. Ain't that friggin great.. As I understand the situation, anyone who has ordered an Ontario permit but hasn't received it can still ride Ontario trails as long as they have the electronic copy they received on them if they are stopped.

Candubrain
Kincardine, Teeswater, Mildmay and back, 145kms. Â Crazy high winds and huge drifts......no fun today, heard more than one sledder got stuck. Â I cut the ride short and headed back home. Â Thank you to the fellow who was part of a group of three that gave me the heads up about the rail trail Walkerton to Mildmay being badly drifted in

DanB
I have a trip planned to the South River/Sunridge area starting on Feb 2nd. Accommodations are booked, but the trails in that area are still not open. Any insights on when the trails in that area might open? I hear that the lakes are good to go, but there hasn't been enough snow.  Might need to trailer south or north....  Thanks in advance
Oggy
They definitely need more snow. I have a place in Trout Creek and haven't been up since Christmas. The area seemed to miss any storms we've had this season.

Too much snow is just a temporary problem. lol

Trails here in bracebridge are coming along great,no real loops, you could launch in gravenhurst and go west towards bala ,hearing good things out that way ,as far as the big lakes I’m thinking not so good, but lakes are not my thing anymore 2
Steve F6
I would say by the weekend there should be more connectivity with the trails in muskoka. 2
