Snow Anyone

Big White ski resort is getting slammed.  They clean this guage off daily.  Over 35 cm since the last clean.  Maybe the snow drought for the west is over.  Rumor is that the resort will open a week early.  They run on natural snow only and need 65 - 75 cm to open.

Your parents sell and buy down south ?!?!

next couple days look decent for mid Nov, then things look to start and get wet.

No, and no, and will never happen.

They live where they live because they like the seasons and lifestyle. South of where they are, anywhere south, be it where I am, or the real "south" is not for them.

Ya, I did not think so - just joking because of the water sports comment.

And I do not blame them either for enjoying that type of lifestyle.

My parents did the "south" home, enjoyed it for a bit, but then you could tell they were not enjoying it as much anymore.....ended up getting sold of course.

Ski resorts in Banff are beginnig to open for the season now.

Heading there for a conference in Jan.  Hope to get an extra day of skiing in, as long as it isnt -40 or something like that.

Nice you enjoy that. I am craving hot springs myself.

The forecast looked more promising 24 hours ago. Should have known better.

As long as it gets cold and stays there we should be happy.  The snow will come.  Bring on dome Alberta clippers.  None of those southern storms that turn to rain.

Ya, the lakes and bodies of water all around us really play havoc on the weather no doubt.

@RAMSOMAIR make perfect sense - he is too close to the big water, passes right over him and dumps just down the road....lol

Along the east shoreline of Lake Huron the moisture laden air usually comes into the first decent higher elevation change. That moisture laden air rises to a higher altitude and then drops the moisture as snow. In the Goderich area for example that used to has mean 10 miles inland and beyond gets good snow .
