Was at Zachary’s in Dorset today and could see the stakes coming off the lake. My route didn’t take me out that way but tomorrow I will see if south portage is staked and will cross if it is. One of the other sledders at restaurant said it was.

Thanks that opens up some great day loops! Looks like Zachary's is open for lunch from 10am-3pm. Any sign of life at the Trading Bay Restaurant this year?

All closed up yesterday. Also LOB is not staked from South Portage to Dwight. There’s a well beaten path and fishing huts off to right as u come out of south portage . Penn lake is not staked as well , but again lots of tracks and huts. Also I saw a pizza place ( can’t remember name ) in Dorset, looks kinda new? Thinks it’s only open weekends ?

Pizza joint closer to highway 35?

Trading Bay hasn’t been open for a while now if I’m not mistaken…to bad since it used to always be packed.

Okay - opened a few years ago I think, maybe longer, times goes by so fast.
never been myself, seen it many times and MTH / Kawagama TV used to mention it and other restaurants to show and ask for support of the local businesses.

Left port sydney around 9:30 heading to dwight. Up to 54 was mint, LOB to Dwight was bumpy, 101b was good in the good spots and thin and rocky in usual areas, stopped at the ASC shelter, what a mess of cans, up 67 minty to wolf lake loop all minty, 65 south a bit scratchy in spots but good overall. Gas at MTH. I see 64 above kawagama is now open. Woulda done that if i knew. 64 south to 11 all in good shape. 11 down to the always neglected section of B trail. B trail Into happy wanderers to cast iron for dinner was simply awesome. Back to HGR all good, seen the groomer heading toward deerhurst. Was fighting freezing drizzle off and on today. 260kms.

Might of passed you on way down on my way to Roseau Power sports. 102b was great, went north from there up D to Sprucedale . Very happy with trail , even logging section. Seguin over to 95 was also very good condition. 95  has a long road section from 102b to 79, didn’t remember that till I got on it… sled getting new carbides tomorrow.. still a good  day.

Yup, I'd avoid Orillia today. Looks like big crash.

I just missed that accident.  Had to run down to Barrie from our shop in Orillia.  Probably happened 5 mins. after I went through there.  Still getting nuked on here.  Once I got to about gasoline alley, I put my sunglasses on.

When I saw the mess up there I thought of you.  The sun has been shining off/on in Barrie all day.

I remember days when I still commuted to T.O., I'd get to work early in the morning and hear about a major crash that happened shortly after I went thru.

I went up Hwy 12/169/11 this morning to Gravenhurst and back to Georgina. Must have just missed the SB closure at 169 on my way back.

Lots of snow between Beaverton and Washago.

Great few days riding out of the cottage, lots of seat time for my son on his sled and mine.  Crazy drifts yesterday, I’ll add a pic of a concession road with the plow in the distance, drifts are as tall as the plow.  Trails this morning were some of the best so far this season, with the fresh snow yesterday conditions today were excellent! IMG_7014.thumb.jpeg.682d7a673bae15c97167ca0ff81e21bf.jpegIMG_7084.thumb.jpeg.d3e6cb53d69e938450afab4c1afedd5d.jpegIMG_7077.thumb.jpeg.3bcca95a4fccae16e58cab4c8b076638.jpegIMG_7093.thumb.jpeg.dc6448134383b340a7329209ea1133f6.jpegIMG_7100.thumb.jpeg.b574c4198e3a4958d7d04721123b0f48.jpegIMG_7102.thumb.jpeg.83b58f07fa814338355e79f995a376f6.jpegIMG_7103.thumb.jpeg.a3ccdf2c82137de4884594986152160e.jpeg

Where is your cottage? We have a place near the Maclean lake boat launch.

It’s in Allenwood beach (Wasaga-Tiny boarder).  Not too far from your place when you cut across the bay.  How are conditions around you?  I haven’t been West of Beausoleil Island yet this season but was hoping to get out that way this week.

Lots of snow but lots of sled traffic so trails were rough on the weekend but all good.

Another foot of snow comin our way. I just paid to have snow removed from our front yard so we could see to get out of the driveways. I'm out of places to put the stuff. lol

Blowers have been out cutting back banks on the highways which have become an attraction around here. People doing graffiti and taking pictures. Not the best places to be pulling over for selfies. Dumb asses.

Headed out this aft to scope out the d101 east to dorset. Was hoping to see a club member or work crew. Heard theres lotsa rocks maybe from 2 summers of atvs?tearing it up? Anyone know the scoop? Its not groomed yet so turned around and decided to head down to the B trail and make big loop east and north. Once again Haliburtons top B dissappoints. It was pristine to the HW limit. Stopped and chatted with a guy he said its moguls to lake st nora.

What exactly is the issue here? Is it b112 that is late to open and B gets neglected till the b112 groomer can get up there without going up the hwy 35 shoulder? Would love to know why.
Came back and stopped at the shelter then went thru bigwin and up d103. All of it in beauty shape. Only one pic today as the riding was too damn good. Kick ass weekend of riding in D7 coming up!

I was wondering the same thing about that trail - actually figured you would be in the know for why it is not open yet...

Snow good now.

After today's storm some of trail markers will be burried no doubt. Today only about 6" to 1 feet showing in some area's in Listowel to Palmerston area. Wind howling going to whip up snow like crazy just in time for that big ride. 💩
