95rxl650
Took a ride out to Sauble Falls and down Huron side to Port Elgin. Had to ditch bang across to Tara trail and back home. Didnt want to risk getting turned around and running out of fuel. lol Trails were fair to good.
95rxl650
Calling for about 10 inches here Mon. Tues. Trailside stops at -15 just isnt relaxing for me anymore. More like a clubhouse with a fire going. lol Nice temps for Thurs. Fri. and the trails should be groomed by then. Good riding before they get all whooped out on the weekends.

I used to believe it took clear skies to make low temps or atleast that seemed to be the way it was. For the last handful of seasons I've noticed a change. Last night my wife said it was to cold to snow but she recalls me pointing it out more and more. Your right though, fine snow that makes perfect packed base. EDIT: Just looked out the window and it's coming down pretty good. Super fine.
Candubrain
The is morning I cleared the driveway of about 8" of snow, and was able to leave my house and ride up the road to the trails, clear as a bell. Got to the start of the trail and I couldn't see the next telephone pole.......turned around and went home....total of 6kms today....lol Learned my lesson a few years back, riding home at night, blowing white outs, 3' drifts on the trail and getting blown off the trail by the high winds. Riding my heavy 4 stroke was not a pleasure that night.....never again. 3

95rxl650
I posted predicted 10 inches for today and tomorrow earlier today. We have surpassed that and it's still coming down. I was out moving snow for an hour, brushed the snow off before coming in and under the snow my coat was frosted up. Been awhile since I noticed that. brrr On the bright side, trails should all be open by mid week. No more worries about map apps, just go ride. 4
VicFish
I'm thinking of getting out tomorrow morning to do some sledding possibly in the Gravenhurst or Bracebridge area. Depends on weather or not there's a snow emergency going on at the time. If there is, i'll launch south a bit out of Orillia again. Question about parking. In Gravenhurst there's the lot at 295 Steamship Lane that used to be on the ITG as official parking. I assume this is still good public parking right on C101D? Anyone know of some parking with trail access in Bracebridge area? Maybe off the D trail or 36 somewhere? Appreciate any advice anyone has. Theres usually room to park at the snobombers groomer shop in Bracebridge. Check with them first. Gravenhurst not so sure.

Gull lake parking lot or at the wharf are your best bets, the trail towards Bala has gotten some good trail reports from what I’ve heard recently

95rxl650
Looks like winter now. Banks have doubled in size in 24 hours. I had to head out 6/10 hwy last night to pick up my wife. She didnt want to drive in the white outs. I was pushing snow over the hood in places. The ol dodge caravan is on taxi duty already this morning. Had to get my daughter to work and the wife is up next. Shut the traction control off and stand on her. lol I was going to hit the trails this morning but I think I'll wait for the groomers. Fresh powder is fun, but only till you get wet.
VicFish
Just at Gull Lake Park. It's coming down pretty good here. Washago up was all squalls. Not sure why the picture is upside down, but it's better than nothing. Lol.

Arctic JC
Great ride today, left from Shelburne, and headed north. Parking lot in Markdale is snow filled and I wouldn’t recommend trying to stage from there now. The snow from Markdale north to Owen Sound just got deeper and deeper, tons of fresh powder, 95rxl650 wasn’t lying, it’s a winter wonderland, there is soo much snow. I’ll add a picture at the Bayshore boat launch in Owen Sound, snow mounds are as tall as the building. We got fuel and headed back to Chatsworth, then to Chesley, breaking trail most of the way. We then continued south to Neustadt, then up to Durham for fuel and a bite to eat. Freshly groomed trails across the B111 from Durham, and the B110 all the way back to Shelburne. Just over 300km, probably the most fun I’ve had on a railbed. Tons of snow everywhere, many perfect trails, really surprised none of it is green. Great mid winter conditions.
