Finally got out for a good ride today, all the clubs have done a fantastic job of the trails. Started in belwood and went up to markdale. Got gas & Had breakfast at the new Timmies. Nice & clean with outlets & USB ports for your electronics. Then we headed over towards Durham. Pretty choppy & thin (snirty) through Durham, after that though it was great again. Then went down through Neudstat, ayton, teviotdale, across to Arthur and back to belwood. Very good day. Trails were pritty darn mint the whole way except for Durham and couple other little thin areas. Fields are awesome everywhere! Couldn’t believe it, but they’re better than most bush sections. We definitely needed that today. New helmet is awesome as well. 270kms for the day. Going back out Friday before the weekend rush.2 points

Was in Mount Joli last Friday . 40 plus cm of snow driven by a stiff 90 km breeze . Had a road crew and police escort back into town . We were 25 km from our nights destination when the winds started to howl trail stakes were almost impossible to see . Never heard anyone complain about the weather that night , next morning suns out and ever piece of snow removal equipment was pushing snow . By 10 am everything seem to be back to normal .Groomer passed by at noon. Oh did l mention the 40 plus cm of snow .2 points

Just like little kids LOL. I know that my mood and demeanor was much better after my first real ride yesterday. I feel 50 year younger! Except for the aches and pains this morning LOL2 points

As an FYI, Meaford and Central Penn are both having Poker runs this weekend (Feb 15th) if trails are open, Southampton has one on Sunday (Feb 16th) and Stoney Keppel Riders are hosting on Feb 22 . All should be on the respective FB pages.1 point

X2. Best of a sad lot, but the white is missing. Seems each decade Skidoo comes out with a Blizzard for a couple of model years with the classic yellow/black/ white. Those are the only ones that I will buy new. Hope this one can last until 2026! 17K km now and counting.1 point

My 2012 grand touring with dual runners had 12,000 km’s on it and original runners were still in good condition. New one has 4,000 km’s on ts runners no problems yet.1 point

It is mandatory for clubs to update trail status 2 times per week. I believe Mondays and Thursday, rather it be Unavailable, Limited Availability or Available. If it stays status quo, no changes. That is mandatory. Clubs can update trail status changes at any given time of the day or week. Some do, some don't. Each club fullfills those mandatory 2 per week updates.1 point

Great report, Nunz. Started a 5 day RAP Tour in Huntsville at irREVerent's with irREVerent and a friend from New York. Day 1 took us to Dinner Bell in Bonfield. Trails varied between 5 and 8 on a scale of 10. The fresh snow was a nice touch and a lifesaver on the looong road running stretches. Off to Deep River tomorrow where we'll spend an extra day in the Missing Link and NRSA area.1 point

IMO OFSC has not pushed to get destination signage right in this province. Not even close. There are good pockets here and there, but nowhere near as good as it should be. It's a corporate policy change that is needed. Clubs and districts aren't making it a priority. Needs to be looked at from a higher level in the organization with some proper thought put into it like has been done in Quebec or New Brunswick.1 point

I understand that. The issue is not left of center, it is overdriving your line of sight.1 point

Insurance companies have entire buildings full of people whose only job is to figure out a way to deny your claim.1 point

This is 100% wrong too. You could have* an aftermarket exhaust that is as quiet, or even more quiet that OEM. Requiring that it be OEM is bad. * I understand that is not normally the case, but this could happen more and more if it had to be. The market is getting more that way all the time. It's already not the wild west like it was 25 years ago.1 point

Noise and trespassing are big issues in our area. I volunteer for SSRSC which looks after the trails into North Bay. We have recently lost trails and are at risk of losing more in our club. I wish people understood this. I personally do like the sound of aftermarket exhaust, but I know for damn sure that most landowners don't. I am tired of knocking on doors and putting up more signage in an effort to keep trails open only to read the 'just send it' 'frig'em' attitude that so many entitled people have.1 point

The answer to this is simple, anyone caught on trails with an exhaust other than stock will be fined, and trail permit removed from sled:1 point

I have to agree...When I put a tune in my 900T, i will be keeping the stock exhaust for just this reason....I have no issue with that..1 point

Great to hear no need for these after market pipes, the most friggen annoying sound.Just another nuisance to landowners that allow trails through their property.1 point
