  1. This is surprising...I'm 6'3" with a 35" sleeve length, and the Klim XL jackets fit me perfectly, in both sleeves and body.
  2. Thanks for posting this, STG...you beat me to it. Kudos to revrnd (Kris) for having this sign made and bringing it along on our current NCDN trip so we could post it in SJ's memory on his favourite trail. I was privileged to be part of the installation process. As I remarked on FB, no doubt Dave is smiling down on this from above.
  3. Gadgetman, not sure if you ever met sledjunk (may he RIP), but you two would definitely be kindred spirits...
  4. And my point is, in case you haven't figured out, that it's far better to be constructive, rather than putting the idea in somebody's head about how they might possibly defeat this DESS lock. Your posts are often very technically instructive and helpful...too bad that wasn't the case this time.
  5. Why do you have to be so negative?...given the circumstances, surely this better than nothing.
  6. Yes, it was a lot of work...and he tries to keep it as current as possible by regular updating.
  7. You might want to retract your second comment above...they arrived late because of a security alert -- a suspicious package (thought to be a potential bomb) was discovered near the cenotaph.
  8. X 2 on carrying the power pack, a few extra relays, and some spare fuses. I don't bother with booster cables anymore, since the power pack does the job, and is much smaller and lighter. It came in very handy one morning in Gowganda, after a -32 overnight low. I was lucky, as my sled was the only one that started...had to boost the other 3 in the group, using the power pack, and it did the job. As I recall, the emblem on the front of the other 3 sleds resembled tuning forks...
  9. Better late than never... čÖâ
  10. Why start now?...čĄ¬
  11. Windshield-mounted mirrors are my strong preference...better viewing angle, IMO.
  12. Every time I've been to Quebec saddle-bagging, I see lots of those on the trails (often couples touring) and doing utility duties at hotels and relais.
  13. revrnd, I've noticed lots of Bluewater trailers on the road lately.
  14. X 2...I had a great buying experience at Bluewater last fall. Bought a NEO 6 X 12 cargo-style trailer and am very happy with both the dealer transaction and the brand.
  15. Hey, probill...it was great to meet and chat with you at the Advantage as well. Glad you and your wife got to enjoy all of the local Kap and Hearst loops. Would love to connect with you again next year...perhaps up north again, and down here in Simcoe/Muskoka on our local trail system. As revrnd has rightly pointed out, I can't take any credit for his ice hammer, although I do like to spread the word about how useful it is.
  16. I've been meaning to talk to you about this...time to re-negotiate our commission arrangement...
  17. Kris, I think that spot is where C crosses Hwy. 655 north of all the driveway crossings, as you head north out of Timmins toward Cochrane. So the transport appears to have been headed south toward Timmins when he pulled off to "park" there. WTF, indeed.
  18. I think you're right about this...makes you wonder what rock they've been living under. HST has been applicable to ANY ownership transfers (including private sales) for years.
  19. Been there several times over the years... it's a great spot, wonderful food, comfortable accommodations, hot tub, gas and rental sleds on site, convenient location right on trail, easy ride to Devils Mountain and lots of other nice northern Laurentian trails.
  20. The L111 was 10 kms of bliss... beautiful winding bush trail with about 6" of fresh powder on a smooth base. Ours were the only tracks on it, except for a trapper's sled for the last few kms. L135 (Paul Guertin Memorial Trail) was more bliss...we put the first tracks on it since it had been groomed last night.
  21. Not likely...the Lynx Rave LE in the showroom is $21K, and the Lynx Boondocker sitting outside is even more $$...and they are both already sold(!!)
