A friend of mine lived here near Collingwood then moved just outside of Oklahoma City for a few years. He would send me pages from the newspaper with a headline "SNOW STORM CRIPPLES OKALHOMA CITY" then there would be a picture of the sand and salt truck out. Two good ol' boys in the back of a pickup with shovels.

There would be 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground and being in a farm area if you were going to town you would usually ask your neighbour if they needed anything to save them the trip. He would call to let his neighbour know he was headed to town and would hear "are you crazy, have you seen the roads out there, you wanna kill yourself"

If you go to honeyharbour.net there are more webcams to view.

Spoke to Diane earlier today. About 2 inches fell so far, but under a snowsquall watch this afternoon and tonight.

Fingers crossed..

Was in LaPorte Texas years back and they showed pics from the previous winter storm that resembled that pic.  Caused a huge mess apparently, shut down the area for a couple of days until it melted.

My wife works on the island in Port Perry. She just called and told me there isn't much snow in town, but there's a blizzard on the island. There just getting the plow out now. Getting better.

There are now 3 cameras - very helpful. You can still water ski on Georgian Bay.

Glad that some areas received fresh snow! Great pic, WD.

Know before you go of course.

We have local contractors that do island work. We have (skoots) air boats that have been running this specific area for 5 days and arent breaking through. Test holes have been drilled and its consitent. It looked like it got whiped out from the rain, but it only had water on top.

Its still building ......
