  1. I always look at my sled and say "Could I sell this to a friend with a clear conscience?" If the answer is "No' then I trade it in.....lol

  2. How is this for a deal? Not sure if this is some type of April Fools joke? https://sudburyyamaha.ca/en/Snowmobile/adid/31183921/2024-Yamaha-SRViper-L-TX-GT-Sudbury-ON/ Waiting for Farmer to say that he might offer them $8K and see if they take it. LOL.

  3. Skied there on Friday with the family, conditions were great, good temps and fresh snow all day. We didn’t see any brown patches, bonus day out for us, nice to have one more “winter” day. My little guy took to skiing well this season, no issues making it down the bunny hill without falling. He’ll be 3 in June. My wife’s in for some competition next season.

  4. I keep the tax savings. My dealer charges me $200 per sled to run them through and the buyer pays $149 licensing fee plus his taxes

  6. It really is a win win, if it’s a fair offer…..with less hassles and headaches, if that is worth it to you to have less hassles in life…. you save the decreased amount offered in taxes you save on new vehicle that you wouldn’t see on private sale. dealer makes that money as profit when they sell based on market value that keeps the wheel greased. rinse and repeat….

  9. Is that Jens old sled? I am not in a huge panic but I am definitely keeping my eyes open for a nice 600X or something comparable for $10K. All my buddies are getting rid of their sleds and I would have ridden more this winter if my dad would have come with me. My mom wont let him buy another sled but he is always up for rip somewhere.

  12. I sold an 8 foot box popup last summer that weighed in at just over 1000 dry. A guy working in BC sent his father from elliot lake to owen sound for pick it up. From the time I posted it till he got here I had well over 100 replies. It was insane. I listed one of my boats yesterday and it was sold in ten minutes by a fella from parry sound. Didnt want a water test, didnt want to see it run on muffs. Just pulled the cover off threw it in the truck and left. I guess folks are willing to travel for a good deal. I dont like sitting on things I'm selling, just want em gone.

  15. Yes, if you have a good trade and a good dealer who can give you fair dollar because they are able to move it - it usually makes sense for me to trade. I have never lost anything by trading - but have also done okay by selling private. I take it one unit at a time and see where things are at and how my own time is looking, do the math, and make the decision.

  20. The dealers can't afford to take a non stop bath - esp. when the manu's force units down their throats. The manu's need to step in and assist or there will be NO dealer network to peddle their stuff anymore. Banks will not finance these dealers forever either. The bubble is about to burst. Affordability along with a horrible winter is likely what the sport needed to be honest

  21. Apparently - that is a sign of it having had a wrap on it. They strip all the OEM decals off and put on ... those ... things .... I really don't git it .... So then, when they go to sell, they either have to find someone that thinks that wrap is kewl or they need to take it off and sell with no decals, or fetch new ones again. Can't say how many times I see a sled for sale. 1 yr old Laundry list of aftermarket shtuff they bolted onto it Don't forget the really kewl wrap! 400 miles $5000 in aftermarket BS and they got 400 miles on it... I jist don't git it.... .

  24. My chum had a Jeep pick-up in high skewl. Straight 6 with Desert Dogs. Those tires are so loud, that he lost his muffler on the way to skewl one day, and didn't know it 'till he got there. Found it on the way home. .

  25. Hahaha. I am always honest have nothing to hide. I buy some equipment used too and usually get same respect. Sometimes you just get a lemon and they all don't get squeezed out during warranty period. Some of fixes are pathetic.

  26. Hahahaha. I do the same with some tractors. Out of sight out of mind. Then you don't have to drudge that phone call. I have one that's giving me abit of grief at moment. Needs tires now too. I think I just trade that one in.

  30. People get caught up in the what it is worth to me vs. what it is worth to others/market can bear......the latter of the two will usually see success, the first, not so much...... I was just talking to a friend who is selling a used vehicle, they are stuck on 27K mark for it, dealer offered 23K when they bought their new one......stupid thing is they would have saved almost 3K in taxes on the trade in......lol.

  31. Wawa to Dubreuilville is roughly 55-60 miles depending on route. Dub to Hornepayne is 100 miles. Hornepayne to Hwy 11 (where Mooseland/Bambino's Truck Stop was) is approx 60 miles no services). You can then go East into Hearst about 40 miles (The opposite way to Longlac area), and overnight. Or Head west to Longlac which would be approx 107 miles at the hwy11 corner. From Hearst to Longlac is 162 miles. This year as Nunz stated, there was a new place to get fuel at the Pagawa River. Once in Longlac, you can go to Geraldton and the Greenstone loop or, you will have to deadhead back the way you came, as the trail goes to Caramat but, does not go to Manitouwadge any longer. You cant go from Wawa to Dub, to White river, then to Manitouwadge to Longlac like we used to (pre 2008ish). The trail system is broken up, further to the west and north. Not everything is connected. Depending on the snow, and the condition of the roads, you could possibly make it from Caramat to Manitouwadge but, you would be at the mercy of the Industrial road, which depending on the status, could be plowed tight, and sanded, or could have 3 feet of powder on it. If it is not plowed, it could eat a lot of fuel before you got to Mani. The last time we did that route, we went Geraldton to Hillsport (105 miles), then on to Mani (another 40). Without the detour to Hillsport it is approx 60 miles from Caramat to Mani. So, approx 90-100 miles of road/trail, no fuel, no services, no trail, plan accordingly. The trail has been taken back over by nature, from Caramat to Mani, that isnt even an option now. If they open the new motel in Hornepayne this fall, you "could" ride wawa to Hornepayne, and over night. then Hornepayne to Longlac, and over night. Do the greenstone loop, and over night, then head back. If the motel doesnt open, you could ride wawa to hearst (approx 250 miles), and over night, then on to Longlac the next day. Good luck. Ski

  37. I wonder if they would take my 02 Skidoo 600 Gt w 25000 km on a trade? It should be worth about $2000. If thats not April fools, somebody is getting serious about moving inventory.

  38. New sleds arent going to be more money in the fall than they are today. Once the manufacturers wipe the tears and/or puke off their desks after seeing Snow Check orders they will have no choice but to heavily rebate non-currents. I was told 2nd hand, but by someone in the Powersports Business that the Polaris dealer in Sudbury has well over 200 new 2023/2024 sleds in stock right now. They will need some serious assistance to get rid of those or they will risk going broke.

  39. Look at Arctic Cat starting in 2018. They had a surplus of new non-currents up to 4 years old. They put up huge rebates and sold them all. I purchased a 2016 AC Lynx for my wife in 2019. $8600 retail and I paid $4500 BRAND NEW. Then sold it during covid for $7500..lol. The dealers will get support from the manufactures or they'll lose the dealers. Stay tuned but a new sled for $4k off list is coming (again).

  44. I fill the tank in the spring, add seafoam or stabilizer. Suck the tank empty in the fall, and add fresh fuel. Was told in college, a full tank condensates on the outside, while an empty tank will condensate on the inside.

  45. Ya, sledding crowd is older around here, and really overall in general. What ya ride I don’t think is a factor most think of when riding, other than perhaps a sled not looked after causing potential break down, but even new sleds leave you stranded. Same as pace, a slower reasonable rider is not that far behind when you stop at intersections to wait for all to catch up, plus is it really about the race to get to your destination or about the ride it takes to get there, at whatever pace and enjoying that. It seems things change more so due to weather, conditions or peoples life that changes, that cause a change in plans. Personality conflicts might be a bigger factor for some.

  47. Towards the Reopening of the Trail Between La Cache and Murdochville in 2025? It is clear that this decision was not made lightly but out of concern for the safety of all users. It is expected that the situation will be rectified in preparation for the 2025 season, allowing us to once again enjoy this splendid trail. In the meantime, it is advisable to make alternative arrangements for the upcoming season. This is from Sledmagine.com https://sledmagazine.com/category/news/regions-news-2/gaspesie-iles-de-la-madeleine-regions-news-2/ I seen on Facebook that the trail has been removed from the map for this season now as well.
