Can always tell when you are trailing an older 2-smoke ahead of you on the trail, especially the ones that I think must use old engine old or something in lieu of actual 2-stroke oil….lol

Doesn't bother me either.....but nice not carrying oil! Your riding gear no longer as an odour either, which is nice.

Re:Leaf
It reminds me of a trip I was on with OF7 and a gentleman (riding Skidoo 850) and his wife (riding Skidoo 600r) from this forum. We launched from Birds Creek and the husband and wife lead the pack. I was trying to keep up in the tight a twisties and I knew I was in trouble when I couldn’t smell the 2 strokes anymore. She could ride that 600r like the wind. In my defence I wasn’t riding my sled and they had local trail knowledge. It makes me feel better when I tell myself that. 🤣 1

Well as per my pic, my 95 XLT is still my first and main sled. Gonna be sad if/when she ever dies....just crossed 10K miles so she's getting up there, but has been like the energizer bunny just keeps going, and with minimal TLC. Love it.. Now will say every fill is a litre of 2 stroke....sorry for the stink when I pass...but that smell just reminds me of sleddin. 🤣 Have got many thumbs up and comments on the old girl....and lots of 'I used to have one of those, or that was my first sled'

I ran my 440 xcr to 14,400 ish miles before I sold it. It was never touched and ran perfect when it was sold.

I ran her over 18,000 miles then swapped for a low miles RXL. Ran great when it left other than it popped a plug once a week or so. RXL was about the same. Our crew lived on our sleds nearly every night.

Known as a sleeper sled with the electric start and reverse and hang with the best of them across the lake. I still have my old Poo XC700 SP too. I beat the old stuff up when snow is low fall and spring. Mud, gravel, rocks, stumps, they dont care. Just need a little lube on the slides once in awhile. Great fun.

A handful of us in the Sault Ste. Marie - Elliot Lake area run wedges as our primary sleds as well. Here's Mike and I at Dunlop Lake Lodge on Sunday. AJ was also on his XLT that day, but down in Elliot Lake.
Spiderman
that's the 96 XLT - my first ever snow checked sled with my own money I had the same skid plate, ski skins, grills done in purple and a light cover on it. Did an Erlandson clutch kit/helix and spring swap I was so proud of that sled and it was so fun to ride. Put 3700 miles on it in the 1st winter and that was it. Onto the Ultra 680 That one looks well cared for. Hard to find them in that shape it seems

scottyr
Did anyone order a 26 sled? All of the dealers that I am talking to are saying that Snowcheck/Spring Break is absolutely terrible this especially considering how good of a season we had.

Lots of left overs yet too depending on what you are after, that have some discounts but not enough on warranty side to entice me. If you have somthing to move, it's a double ouchy with prices they are giving to trades too.

We had a record year in Southern Ontario. Most of my buddies put 4000+ kms on. One of my clients put 6000kms on and never put his sled on a trailer.

I cant say that I am surprised by this at all. Easy to look at non current instead or as you have rationalized for your sled, invest a few grand on your sled to the newer specs and ride another year.....or are you reconsidering that now. Once you're out its almost impossible to get back in. Passion keeps you in Once you're out and find other things to spend your time and money on, hard to get that fire back. We're inching closer as hockey will wind down over the next year or two I suspect. Passion is still there and I will get back in -one more time and hopefully stay.
