Saw a commercial recently about the 60 month offering.

going to take deep discounts and 60 @ 0% to move units.

People have no money.

did you see the report yesterday with the added costs coming April 1 when the carbon tax increase kicks in?

FML

disposable $$$ is drying up for a lot of people

I am more worried about tarrif war that is coming. Where is our federal government when we really need him, them. Out smoking weed on a beach some where sipping korna with lime 🤣
This is a really bad scenario that is going to un fold in next week or so. Ford has been running ads in USA trying to educate Americans on proposed tariffs against Canadians .  I am guessing going to be a tonne more people out of work if trump does do it. Economical force he is going to apply to us, is really going to hurt and no one is home. HELLO

Lets hope he falls short on support for his ego. Either way it's 4 years before before the crazy gets undone but the results of it are going to effect alot of people permanently if they dont have the means to pivot.

Personally I havent put much thought into any of it until it starts to unfold and a clear picture emerges.

My concern is for youngens that got themselves into being "house poor" situations. Inflation alone is enough to sink that boat.

Season too short for a sled now. When I was at delta St Mary's last week, they told me sleds are tough sell. They are drowning in used inventory over 80 in stock.  No way they are going to move all that unless they get miracle from Mother Nature 😎

Part of that issue is the $1200 pre season service you had.  I haven't replaced one we wrecked a few years ago partly because of that.  The shop rate at some places is getting out of hand.  $400 in parts, and $800 in labour is a bit ridiculous.

Time to go back to two stroke easier to work on. Then you have cost of two stroke oil.

Saw a press release that Kawasaki are bringing back their 2 stroke Mx engines for next season.

could this be to lower new unit costs and get people back out there?

yes sir they are. They should be less money to buy, but even if they aren't, the maintenance cost will be much less.

I ride a 2003 cr250, I have a couple engines and suspensions for it, easy to maintain, but certain parts are not being reproduced and the manufacturer has no longer produces them. I have been looking at a new yz250x. It's a buyers market right now, pricing has dropped considerably.

It will be nice for Kawi to rejoin the bigger 2stroke market.

bought my son a 250 four stroke last year.

It's a great bike

KX250 would also be a wonderful bike to have - we'll see what happens

One of the guys from our group bought a new in the crate Yamaha at Harricanna in Amos about 10 years ago. Rode his to the dealership for when they opened and we rode out at 11:30 that morning with the new one. Awesome dealership. They gave us an apex demo to ride one day when we had to get a repair done.

Not as common today with four stroke engines. Many use to blow up engine on first day or riding. Most of those riders are on four strokes now.

Many still love stinky 2 strokes.

I follow this "greasy triples" group on FB - starting to look around - think I want something like that to play around on and ride here and there.

👍I've been thinking the same. Would be cool to have a nice zx chassis with 700 twin, or ck3 machz 800, just for the days when the trails are mint around here. Zrt 800 would be cool too. They rail the corners like they should.

I was a dedicated triple guy for many years. a 98xlt special is on rails and the yamaha srx were my fav's. zrt's were good too but I had limited seat time on them. Most fun were the polaris triples through the 90's

One of two sleds I regret selling.

It was great - put on the SLP triples, Erlandson clutch kit, VForce Reeds and away she went.

Dumb, dumb and dumb for letting that one go.

I wish I never sold my 2002 MxzX440 race sled in the zx chassis. I had it stretched to 136 with a 1.25" track no studs. If I would have thrown a 700 twin in that, I probably would still have it. It was a fun light sled and had plenty of tight trail power. Just light on power for the Northern Corridor stuff. I LOVED my 2001 SRX. I ended up stretching that to 136, and when it was over, it had a 2" mountain track on it. In trail trim, with the holzman tempaflo on it, if I wasnt into the fun flipper and just cruising, I could get close to 20 mpg's. That was pretty impressive for the time. Ski

But the news ones are so much better, or worse, depending what side you are on.

Can always tell when you are trailing an older 2-smoke ahead of you on the trail, especially the ones that I think must use old engine old or something in lieu of actual 2-stroke oil….lol

I've been sniffing around at a few 97 SPX 680's.  I need to get a shop built first though as I have run out of room to put things.  Take a look at this greasy sled
