I took this picture September 24, 2017 in the St Onge (Barrie) showroom. It’s a brand new 2017 (non current) mxz 900ace.

Bought my 99 mxz 600 in the then new zx chassis, for out the door price of 6700 usd. Bought an 01 srx in Canada, with a 1.58 exchange rate for 5800, with Ohlin's shocks (not available on U.S market sleds). Fast forward to 2007 new Yamaha nytro mountain was close to 10k out the door. In 2009 Arctic Cat M8 was about the same. We kept those cats, and still have them but, upgraded to 800 XF High Country's in 2018, and was still shy of 10k out the door. Now 6 years later, the price is 50% more. I believe these are our last sleds. I see why we cant get younger people more interested in committing to the sport, and our future/clubs. It is too cost prohibitive to get started, let alone continue, while trying to buy houses, have children etc... I'm ready to give up, priority's change. Ski

So that sled new today (a renegade 900 ace adrenaline) has an msrp of $15,684.  23% increase.  I looked up building trade wages.  Union wages are up around 20% in the same time frame.  So those comparisons are close to being on par.  Not in anyway saying sledding is cheap, but if ppl will buy base models there is a huge swing between base model pricing and the premium model thats approaching $30k.  That's not in anyway saying the cost of living for that trades person has only went up 20%.  That guy is getting squeezed from all sides.  But there is options when buying sleds.  Snowtrax and ourselves are our own worst enemies sometimes.

Just heard today that a big dealer out west just bought 50+ brand new sleds from Cat for .50 on the dollar.    Textron wants these units off their books in a bad way.      I guess if you could buy brand new 25 Cats for half price there are a lot of guys who would roll the dice.

2 for 1. That would keep a fella going for years to come. Question is, will we have a trail system.

Considering it is out west, I am guessing all mountain sleds......I am sure a mountain that rents sleds could make easy use of these with no issues....

Correct.    They were all Mountain sleds and some ATVs.    No trail sleds.

I would assume this shuts down the only manufacturer of 120 and 200 kid sleds

Apparently they are still going to build BRPs 200s as they have a contract to supply them for MY26.   They will built in the first half of 2025 and just sit in a field in TRF until BRP takes delivery of them.

Excellent, the next step for Grandson

How about a top level engine platform sled with no gauges or instrument cluster at all. No shocks either. Just the fabricated components and bodywork at a low low price. No warranty either. Then we all outfit as we like with whatever shocks or gauges and GPS tech we like. If the engine is fuel injected only the engine controller is provided and tuning software baked into the sale price too. More like buying a race car chassis combo where this is common place

 I'm digging it

Sled Prices Falling?  Likely not in Sault Ste. Marie this winter.  The local Sault Ski-Doo dealer moved 55 sleds last week and 100+ in the past 2 weeks, according to their FB page. The abundance of snow is helping sales.

I was told by a pretty reputable source that Contant Group still has 1300 new sleds between their 5 stores.

It’s just an Adrenaline/base model.

I have seen that sled brand new for $14995.

I'd say yes 130 hp.  It's a decent deal.

in '22 I paid just short of $15k plus tax for the wife's 900 NA Adren, once I put a wind sheild on it.

There were no left over '22's sitting around.

I did think this was an R though.

Seeing '22 900R's around $12-13k.

Seen a 23 XRS850 with 1800kms on it for $12k a couple days ago.
