in '22 I paid just short of $15k plus tax for the wife's 900 NA Adren, once I put a wind sheild on it.

There were no left over '22's sitting around.

I did think this was an R though.

Seeing '22 900R's around $12-13k.

Seen a 23 XRS850 with 1800kms on it for $12k a couple days ago.

2020 into 2021 was a good winter though. I did almost 2000 kms barely used trailer. Since then I don't think I have been over 400 kms a year 🤣

If thats the same winter I'm thinking of, I rode 6 Fridays in a row with some family members locally.

Yep.   That was the last remotely decent winter we have had.    We didnt have a ton of snow in Mitchell, but my dad and I trailered up to Mount Forest and rode quite a few times that season.

I havent put 500km on in Ontario since....

Was that not the year they invoked health centre boundaries due to the “situation”?

I think that was our last good winter around here and same thing, most km were in QC ever since.

For you guys buying used private sleds. Are you doing a lien search before paying for unit. Call mto with vin number or does seller have to provide documentation?  Thank-you! Different times now. I just don't want to find out when I go to register it, it has a lien on it 🤣

Does the MTO do lien checks? They do not have used vehicle packages for snowmobiles in Ontario. Sellers aren't required to provide anything. They should be providing an original signed off registration (after you've paid for the sled).  There are online sources to have lien checks done.

100% - I would not finalize it without doing it.

I used ISB Global last time I needed to do it.

If asked, seller has a statutory obligation to disclose if there is a lien on it.

Beside hoping for an honest seller, is there any other way of checking?

If you are on good terms with your local car dealer you can also ask them to run a Carfax report on the VIN.

Insurance data and liens will show up on a rec vehicle thru Carfax as well.

You can go online and get one for around $40 but most car dealers have a subscription that lets them run 50 per month for 1 set price.

In talks with a few local dealers even blowout pricing isnt putting much of a dent into inventory levels.

My local guy said it will take a miracle for him to sell all his 24s before the end of the season.    And then he can start all over next year with a bunch of left over 25s.

Miracle would be an understatement.

Another late start thanks to mother nature will not help things either

Anyone have hard data on credit card and mortgage defaults in Canada as of late?

Just for perspective since it obviously will paint a better picture of the financial state.

Also wondering how busy things will be this year for bookings, restaurants, traffic, etc......will be booking lodging soon for a Feb trip so I guess we will see.

Not to try and get this topic off track of course....

Haven't looked - but one has to keep in mind that mortgage default is an absolute last resort by the borrower and the lender.

Banks HATE defaults and will do almost anything to not have it happen.

To me, the better question is how many are teetering or have defaulted, without defaulting.

My guess is the number is staggering

CC is likely the one that would be more common - but if the Mortgage default numbers are higher, that would be a major indicator of how bad it might be rather than possible toys not moving.

On the second, likely never to know as I do not think anyone would officially share that info.....but I agree.

On another mindset of this, had a discussion over the holidays about how many "high end" cars are on the road these days around us - which reminded of a friend that bought a X5 a few months ago after the first person that was looking to buy it could apparently not get approvals on two loans in order to buy it (not that I sure that info was supposed to be shared)

I didn't know that. What does that mean legally?

You pay a fortune to fight it in court that takes a year or more and reflect that it is a waste of time and money...so do your due diligence to avoid it....lol

I looked at some lodging for me and a buddy online. Some places are showing they are almost full mid week. One place was pembroke best western. It you want to do a trip have to plan soon especially for Friday rooms no doubt.

Good to hear lodgings are booking up and / or full......unless you are looking for a place that is!

I was looking for febuary.  Showing a few rooms here and there. Popular places like this one usually fill up. Between it and Pettawa I usually get something mid week closer to go time.
