  1. B109 up near cashtown in good shape today. Good frozen base. Just need a little dump to open up west d8. That doesn't look like it will happen for at least another week.

  3. Still good snow up on escarpment in the woods. Lowlands and fields not so great.

  4. Just need the lake effect westerly winds to come back. The foot or so we have is nice frozen and hard packed. My sled drag would barely cut into it all yesterday.

  5. With no snow on the ground, maybe I should drag my old sleds out and see if they still run. Thanks for posting.

  6. Best boat in the world! That engine was hand built for speed! And religiously polished by yours truly 🤣 a lot of amazing memories at 100mph🚤 Is he selling it?

  7. Yes! That is my great aunt and late uncle. I didn’t want to post their names on a forum so I refrained from saying anything. I haven’t been there since they sold it and I was younger. Harold passed away some time ago.. my entire childhood was up there. That makes me super sad. So many good memories. I wonder if we ever crossed paths, or any of my family.

  8. Today, we pulled the plug on the Northern Corridor trip. Too far to drive to SRF or Kap for a couple of days sledding, especially for 2 guys who have ridden those trails more than we can remember. If the original group of 4 were going, we likely would have made the effort. Hoping winter comes back with a vengeance in the near future.

  9. Crazy pricing doesn’t even justify the stupidity…. T Cat is $28.4k pre tax before any other charges or add ons. Over $32k plus out the door. Insane. I bought mine in February of 2019, granted it was mid season but with the discounts that year this is almost double what I paid. Fortunately for me the miles are low and all preventative maintenance items have been completed so no need for a new one. A SxS for $15-20k is looking more and more appealing each day. Family fun at the cottage that can be used 10-12 months a year.

  10. We cottage near singhampton. Our base (like in the pics) is about 8-12" of concrete. If we could just get a solid 12" of new snow we would be 'off to the races'. Seems like a big ask this year......... MS

  12. There might be some good news for the middle of February pattern change. How weather patterns are expected to change across the United States in February The Weather Will Be VERY Different In February... Max Velocity - Severe Weather Jan 27, 2024 In this weather forecast, we are breaking down a DIFFERENT weather pattern that will change the weather for February comparably to January. Arctic blasts, winter storms, and severe weather will all be possible throughout the month, but exactly when will these events ramp up? This weather pattern is a part of El Nino, which has led to more active weather in the Southern Tier of the USA, while the Northern Tier has been less active. This will lead to some snow events, showers and storms, and perhaps severe weather. Find the latest details of the weather across the United States in our latest weather forecast. .

  13. From what I can see around local trail heads there seems to be a base still hanging around. Better than expected. A good dump of a foot or so and it'll be back to riding in no time. Whats still on the ground is turning to a block of ice. Just need some cushion for it.

  18. Our roads are bare, ice is thin, snow is nominal, worst winter in my lifetime for where our cottage is, no debate.

  20. Harold and Marion. Our daughter worked summers for them during high school, mid 90's. It had sat empty during the 60's and re-opened early 70's, purchased by a group of investors from Woodstock (and/or area). Only one I remember was Barney the Chiropractor). Al (former Woodstock Cop) and Dianne Symons ran it until Harold took over in the 80's. Al, along with Big Bob Smith who owned Edgewater, established the '300 series' trail system, and the 'Knights of Armour Snowmobile and Ski Club'. I was at the inaugural meeting at the Lodge. Groomed trails, what a concept! Believe that was about '72. Sad to see the property go downhill like it has. Main building is prolly not worth saving. Half the rental units burnt down. Just sad.

  21. I just came home yesterday from Abitibi Quebec. In my opinion snow levels seem about the same everywhere throughout Ontario and eastern Quebec. We had dinner in downtown North bay and I honestly think there is more snow in Orangeville. I wouldn’t consider riding anywhere until we get cold and snow.
