Parry sound is showing rain on Tuesday / Wednesday but North of that snow  hopefully the snow line moves more south.

Depends model showing rain all up past north bay at moment. It's a Texas low so some serious warm moisture with it, that's going to push cold air more to north. Southern Ontario calling for 33.50 mm's of rain starting Tuesday evening after light snow. 🤦‍♂️

They get rain amounts right 90 percent of the time.
Musoka airport they calling for 28 mm's of rain Tuesday night and another 10 mm's on Wednesday morning. Not much snow ahead of it.

Back side of system looks great for snow though. Second half of January we should see some good snow falls. Texas low will fire up squalls after it passes on Wednesday 😎

I'll still take it.  Right now, we have everything to gain and quite literally nothing to loose.  There will be a snow line somewhere and north of it trails will opening.  This storm is hitting a large portion of Ontario and Quebec.  Never count your chickens before they hatch, but this is better than what we've had the past month if the forecast is even 50% correct.

The line might be Trout Creek. North of there will be / might be snow and south of Trout Creek will be / might be rain and snow.

Just looking at Dorset right now

Mon night wil be -4

Tues is high of 0

Tues  night is -4

Wed will be 0 as well

Tues 5 to 10mm of rain and 10cm of snow will hopefully be more snow and less rain.

With snow almost everyday after this and double digit lows at night.

Looking promising I’d say.

Not to be pessimistic, look at the same forecast tomorrow! I looked a Sequin yesterday and almost 100cms of snow total in 14 day forecast. Looked this morning and now 1/2 that amount lol. They have no idea. Hope we get something though

There snow forecasted just about every day after Tuesday.    I am going to go out on a limb and say that there will be trails open south of Muskoka before north of North Bay just because the areas south of Barrie only need a foot of snow to get across the farmers fields.

Dorset in tall pines system seems to benefit from higher elevation just like hailburton forest.
Seen rain down town hailburton before and forest is getting only wet snow. Cross our fingers this time both should get snow hopefully 😎

Yes, Dorset area has always had its own little eco system bubble, just like some parts of the forest.
Some trails are forgiving not needing a ton of snow, others not so much, and not a lot of roads to run….plus TP and ASC do a great job!

The system clearly will be border line, just need to determine where the rain/snow line will be…..perhaps 118, hopefully south of that, we’ll see.

Going east now. Must of ssnow will miss Ontario and go into Quebec. Northern Ontario won't get much from this system. Eastern Ontario has a chance for big snow falls if rain don't follow too.

The system is coming up from Texas and heading straight into ontario. The temps and wind systems will either push it north or south but they dont really know until the day before. Will see.

Doesnt really affect us in Muskoka as the swamps, lakes etc. need freezing temps to do anything but every bit helps.

This happens more often than not with this type of system. Buffalo will get smoked I think

I've been using an app from buffalo channel 4 wivb for 24hr radar lately. Usually pretty accurate.
