Broadhagen same you think too? Thanks I have seen a couple of sleds behind my house but not many. The trail is "yellow" but my fully studded sled with brand new carbides is staying in the trailer until we get more snow 1 1
scottyr
My buddy just drove to Ottawa from Newmarket this am via Hwy 7 and this was the text he just sent me. No snow all the way from Newmarket to Ottawa , the sled trails that crossed anywhere on Hwy 7 were gated closed
95rxl650
Just got back from a quick ride, Owen Sound to Berkeley. Railbed was getting whooped out. Had to stay 80-120kms to smooth out the ride. Stopped and talked to anyone trailside that was headed back to OS. They said leaving the railbed was a waste of time. I never talked to anyone that made it any further than Markdale. They did say it got better down that way. Some where around Chatsworth I seen the groomer parked just off the trail. Unmanned. I could hear the gravel most of the ride. One or two kicks from the toe of the boot made it through to dirt and gravel. That was in some better area's. lol We need more snow. Lots more. 1 1

Blackstar
Gees, I was going to give a bit more trail report and say the best we ride today was west of Fordwich to Gorrie and towards Brussels but some of those trails are now closed. Fordwich to Clifford is mostly plowed fields and its garbage. The road allowance is good of course. Going south out of Clifford, that railbed section is thin with gravel showing. The trails from the bottom of that railbed over to the B111 west of Palmerston is 80% plowed fields and bush, garbage. Surprisingly, B111 from there around to the west side of Listowel was pretty good. The railbed from Listowel to Atwood was ok in the morning, getting snirty by the afternoon. That restaurant will be a regular stop for us now. Awesome smash burgers. Not licensed just so you know.
toddszr600
Left out of the Seaforth arena today, which was a busy place!, a bit sketchy and could use some snow, with lots of snirt and gravel here and there, other areas where fair to good . It was yellow when I left home, but I see now its back to red, likely a good idea as it was pretty beat in places.

scottyr
B&W closed all their trails tonight. Just not enough snow to handle the traffic and abuse. I guess my Lynx gets to stay parked until next weekend. I am going to get out somewhere for sure. Here is a pic from my buddies house in Sudbury this am. 😭
Pota
Plenty of snow up Barrie way, just completed a nice ride there. Groomer shed in Barrie to Midland and loops in between , snow not an issue …moguls on the other hand lol. Get out early , got bumpy after lunch.

tricky
15 hours ago, tricky said: I woke up early (for me) this AM, so I think I will give it a shot From the Spot in MF today. 15 hours ago, Strong Farmer said: Nope not allowed to park there unless you eat breakfast or lunch They did remove it from the guide too. Man another parking spot lost. 😎 Well I went for my ride out of MF today. Wow! What a re-education (re D9 trails). I have nothing new to offer, except more confirmation of what has already been said. As PLC and Blackstar indicated, and the MF Drifters advised, The Spot's lot across the sideroad from restaurant is not closed to sledders. They would just like sledders using it, to either be restaurant patrons or register their rig and make a 'parking lot maintenance' contribution. So I started my day by complying and dropping $10 in the jar. Well worth it, if you ask me. I parked there because I wanted to ride stuff south of Varney and Durham, both on the way out and back. Sorry that I am so late in reporting, but I got home just before 6 and Friday is my night to either cook supper or take the bride out. So here I am late to the keyboard. I see that the trails that I was going to report as being in the worst condition, B111 northeast and southwest of MF, are now closed. Today was good for me, a glass half full kind of guy who has ridden lots of baseball to softball sized bare washed rock as well as 10 km of mud , all on a long Northern Ontario loop in March where turning around was not an option (prior to ITG). Even the trails that are now closed, I would give a D grade, not an F. Other sections of trail today would get an A (no A+s) and everywhere in between. I was amazed what a great job some groomer operators did with 5-6 inches of settled snow. I could see where I was being saved by the cold whether, from the mud and water reported early in the week. Lots of brown frozen spots on the trails. As Scotty mentioned, the heavy trail traffic has taken snow down to snirt, and snirt down to dirt. I rode 170 km today in 4.9 hours of running time, from MF northeast on B111, to 619 north into Markdale, to B110 to past Mt. Pleasant and then back down, east and south of Durham toward Ayton, south on R500 to Harriston and B111 back to MF. Trails were better, with what seemed like more snow around Harriston, but maybe they just hadn't had the traffic yet that the other areas on my ride had. Saw everything from fruit to nuts, only averaging 35 KPH, being very careful not to injure myself or the sled, and I still call it a good day. I wanted to check out the sled and my ski set-up, and was curious about how I would hold up. Mission accomplished, but I am sooo glad that neither of my buddies joined me. To Spidi, there is absolutely no reason for you to try to fit a ride in this weekend. Even with some new snow, trails won't hold up to the weekend sled volume. Enjoy the hockey because as you have said, your boy won't play it forever and if he does he won't need you (except as a sponsor) after he gets his driver's licence. My grandson has 2 OMHA U15 games this weekend. Now I can attend both days knowing that I am not missing any great sledding. As I was closing out my ride, I couldn't help but think that there is a very decent base established in D9, which didn't happen last year, and we have another week of cold coming. I am still optimistic that we'll get some snow before the inevitable meltdown. Rum glass is more than half full.
95rxl650
I see the Meaford Ridge Runners have opened up a few trails. My initial reaction was to top off the tank and hit it at 5am this morning but as I rode by it yesterday all I could see was dirt from the groomer. I'm just 3 minutes from the local staging area so maybe I'll take a run anyway. I was in Meaford recently and they had more snow than OS. Teds range road diner is not far off the trail and has some of the best food on the planet, but they dont open till 3pm.
Spiderman
Looking like saving the effort has been the right decision. We're in Peterborough next weekend - doesn't look like anything decent that way either.

We need another 6" in most areas to he decent here in south. That's only for decent conditions. It take more then a foot to get them good with traffic we get. 🤣

That said the trails west of Elmira now have a lot of dirt showing and should likely close tonight. It will probably take longer to get them going again. Trails in the St. Clements area have about 4" of snow on them. Snow is a little deeper east of there.
