It was decent leaving temis, ville marie to la tulipe was thin but rideable, la tulip was sweet half way to la force was icey on lower route 63 and up. La force up 309 was minty to the shelter the whole length. Stopped for lunch at rapid 7. Malartic to amos on 83, 307, 93 was choppy but met the groomer just south of town. 400 clicks. Excellent dayđź«

Had a Great Lake tour today. Mackenzie, Papineau, Bark, Cross, and Caughlin..going to go for a crap tomorrow. Too bad it’s not even March yet..usually my favourite month. Hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it while it lasted. I’m hopeful for another good stretch of weather w some significant snow.

What a thunderstorm we are having today - pouring rain - crazy lightning - and very loud thunder.

Is it July?

Not just you, @Strong Farmer and @skidooboy were right with you....lol.

What a season though, one for the record books.

Onwards and upwards - cannot get worse for winter, weatherwise.....next year will be better!!

Good day yesterday to ski though!

The resorts are not going to see a stelar March break on the hills.......

I never bitched about the weather actually. What I bitched about is the blatant ineptness of TWN to predict snowfall and all the hype they create.

Last Friday, Blue had 38 runs open, this morning, 18. The fat lady is in the dressing room, warming up her vocal chords.

Just think of all the money saved this year......

From gasoline, wear and tear on sled/truck, lodgings to heating your home.

Only thing which kinda irks me Is I lost a year of warranty. Other than that I hope im on the positive side of ground level in 2004/5 winter and can enjoy the sport next year

And now we get this for Orillia

Description

Snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon.

Hazards:
Snowfall accumulations of 20 to 40 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
Northwesterly winds with gusts up to 80 km/h developing this afternoon.
Reduced visibility, to near zero at times, in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
Beginning this afternoon or early evening through Thursday afternoon.

Discussion:
Snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon. Significantly reduced visibilities, to near zero at times, are expected due to strong northwesterly wind gusting to 80 km/h. The snow squalls are expected to be the most intense tonight. Snow squalls will weaken and shift north of the area by early Thursday evening.

An upgrade to a blizzard warning may be required should the strong winds persist long enough into this evening particularly for areas near the Lake Huron and Georgian Bay shores.

###

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Road closures are possible.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.

Just did some quick math on my season- excluding fuel:

My sled = $19.38 per mile

Sons sled = $93.15 per mile

Probably won't pull the calculator out again lol :)

I ain't doing that math this season, no way.

Seeing the posts on Facebook of people assuming there will be a discounted permit next year.....lol

I've spent more on carbides than permits this winter. The permit is the cheap part.

People are idiots. Permit is at least 100% undervalued.

lol - yes, the OFSC is operating at massive profits and sitting on mountains of money from all those permits purchased.

Give your head a shake !
