I always look at my sled and say "Could I sell this to a friend with a clear conscience?" If the answer is "No' then I trade it in.....lol8 points

I keep the tax savings. My dealer charges me $200 per sled to run them through and the buyer pays $149 licensing fee plus his taxes5 points

It really is a win win, if it’s a fair offer…..with less hassles and headaches, if that is worth it to you to have less hassles in life…. you save the decreased amount offered in taxes you save on new vehicle that you wouldn’t see on private sale. dealer makes that money as profit when they sell based on market value that keeps the wheel greased. rinse and repeat….4 points

I sold an 8 foot box popup last summer that weighed in at just over 1000 dry. A guy working in BC sent his father from elliot lake to owen sound for pick it up. From the time I posted it till he got here I had well over 100 replies. It was insane. I listed one of my boats yesterday and it was sold in ten minutes by a fella from parry sound. Didnt want a water test, didnt want to see it run on muffs. Just pulled the cover off threw it in the truck and left. I guess folks are willing to travel for a good deal. I dont like sitting on things I'm selling, just want em gone.3 points

Yes, if you have a good trade and a good dealer who can give you fair dollar because they are able to move it - it usually makes sense for me to trade. I have never lost anything by trading - but have also done okay by selling private. I take it one unit at a time and see where things are at and how my own time is looking, do the math, and make the decision.2 points

Everything I have sold has been through marketplace vs. kijiji. $3,500.00 - $5,000.001 point

Always pop in and do a little catch up.👍 Yes I have seen the price of new ones. I was thinking of around $5,500 about half the price of new but not shure if I am in the ball park or not. Been looking on market place and they are all over the place, even clam shells are going for a pretty penny these days.1 point

I’ve looked into it a bit more they have IQuad very similar to I moto niege . Most of the trails don’t open till may 15 so there’s not much showing up get .1 point

When I rode Gaspe on sled I used BRP Go app. No cell service in a lot of the area but gps in phone tracks your position and updates as you go…Was awesome..I thought those same trails were atv-sxs trails during the rest of year. I have not seen it but I think Quebec has an atv trail map website same sort of thing as the Quebec snowmobile trail website?1 point

Yes it currently can be . the group I watched had mostly big horn tires there just a 4 ply we have 8 ply tires you can still puncture them but you’re odds are better. I carry a spare and lots of tire plugs1 point

Hahaha. I am always honest have nothing to hide. I buy some equipment used too and usually get same respect. Sometimes you just get a lemon and they all don't get squeezed out during warranty period. Some of fixes are pathetic.1 point

Hahahaha. I do the same with some tractors. Out of sight out of mind. Then you don't have to drudge that phone call. I have one that's giving me abit of grief at moment. Needs tires now too. I think I just trade that one in.1 point

I usually trade at dealer as it saves on taxes, hassle free and you dont have to worry about buyer not switching out of your name. Last time though, I had a Cat and Doo dealer told me straight up they did not want to take on trade, it had 16Km on it. Put it on FB market place and priced right, I was glad to sell and buyer was happy with price, all worked out in the end.1 point

Hmmmm, the couple I was at I mentioned it and they looked at me like I had 3 heads lol.1 point

That is what all the Quebec guys do. The dealers call it "sale by accommodation"1 point

Your time isn’t free, all the waiting around, showing, haggling etc etc, at a point, the wasted time and effort isn’t worth having it gone and moving on.1 point

People get caught up in the what it is worth to me vs. what it is worth to others/market can bear......the latter of the two will usually see success, the first, not so much...... I was just talking to a friend who is selling a used vehicle, they are stuck on 27K mark for it, dealer offered 23K when they bought their new one......stupid thing is they would have saved almost 3K in taxes on the trade in......lol.1 point

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/new-rv-sales-down-1.7168266 Applies to sleds too - add in that the activity is 100% weather dependent............ Big time market correction on the way.1 point

You guys up there basically had no winter season, how very sad . Good thing you also have summer toys.😃1 point

I fill the tank in the spring, add seafoam or stabilizer. Suck the tank empty in the fall, and add fresh fuel. Was told in college, a full tank condensates on the outside, while an empty tank will condensate on the inside.1 point
