That's my 2017 Assault 144 which has been turning into an SKS full front end swap from a SKS, found someone who wanted the wider Assault front end Went from 42.5" to 41-39" adjustable to just this week 39"-37' adjustable Doing much more backcountry riding in Manitoba vs trails, surprisingly the 1stbrise at 37" it was good not to tippy. Bought the better half a 07 Crossfire 500 and it's set at 44" nice and stable for her vs my older 2015 RMK 600 144 Snow conditions are okay here could use more snow, but can ride. Might head to Sudbury late February but not sure https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMY1gn5cr/3 points

Sorry to highjack the Sudbury thread. Just as an update, As of yesterday, my buddy said that from what they could see from Hwy 63, Trout Lake was frozen over and there were some stakes on the ice near the Portage.2 points

From a marketing standpoint - it made sense. Did it really cost much? doubtful. Did it gain much? we will never know the answers - but those that need to, do - my guess is it had very little impact if any. Can't cast blame on trying something new, it was for the right reasons and with 100% good intentions. Some ideas work, some don't - what works in one place - does not always work in others. is what it is2 points

There is a bridge over the river. So no issues there. Bancroft to Lake St Peter is railed. Then good forest access roads the majority if the way north from there to Whitney. I haven't ridden it this year yet, but it should be ok. The Granite in Bancroft is the place to eat lunch. Right where B106E, hwy 62 and hwy 28 meet. It's a good restaurant. There is a park n ride right at millennium park in town to unload st or 15 mins north at Birds creek is a better lot. Its right on 62 on the west side of the highway between the south baptiste lk rd and musclow Greenview rd. Have fun.2 points

I'm assuming its a marketing ploy - get more people out and they'll sell more trail passes as a result.. I can't see this working. Anyone with a real interest in the sport will have a pass. IMHO, it opens up the trails to marginal machines and a high likely-hood of people running on red trails. At least in Ontario, the cost of a 3 day trail is very reasonable which is enough to give anyone a taste if they're on the fence about getting into it. Am I wrong?1 point

Yep cross the bridge in town. Run out through millennium park and them take the sidewalk past the hotel. Gas is after it. not the most accessible, but it will work. You can usually get gas in lake st peter.1 point

Money talks. Mike clears a large parking area at Golf and Ski. Offer to pay for safe parking there and see what you get for an answer. I am sure I have seen truck/trailer combos there that weren't at the cabins.1 point

Re:Leaf, I think it's more than a rumour. I have heard from a reliable source that L125 is not expected to be open at any time this season, due to logging.1 point

Damn. Great people. Stopped in a couple times when F was open.1 point

no, they are not on the trail any longer. when they eliminated the F trail, they eliminated the access to flame lake. sad, for Karen, Gary, and Maureen. that was a favorite trail stop, and overnight place for us. Ski1 point

it says please, not required, not law, not mandated. it is a suggestion. could Barney Fife ticket you, yep. and further hold up the court for dumb stuff, only for the judge to read the "please", and not a "required, for permit to be valid", and say case dismissed, oh, opp, ofsc, mto, pay the courts and the defendants costs, please. Barney, next time read the fine print before you ticket someone and bring this S-show to my courtroom. guessing here but, I see that is how that would go. Ski1 point

Lol, It has one! Last year was first year on sled and figured I’d try stock windshield for a season and upgrade if it didn’t work all that well. It worked good, so didn’t buy a new one for this season. Also used my mission Helmet last year for first time too, it worked great…rode with MX style prior. And I have a beard too!1 point

Good you haven't quit - and don't quit. Snowmobiling is safe. Nothing is without any risk. My parents still print off mapquest paperwork if they are travelling somewhere new lol I love it1 point
