    • Yeah they don't have enough drives as it is. Some won't pass both either 🤣.  My step sons route they did use a private taxi for first 3 or 4 weeks of school year until they found more drivers 😳.
    • the school closures stem from a lawsuit. It's beyond ridiculous   Every day there is some sort of winter driving advisory.   People just do not know how to drive anymore......   Rear wheel tanks with all season tires should be part of winter road training. also, road tests should be done in 2 parts - summer season and winter - you must past both   My 2 cents
    • We already had 4 days of cancelations here too. I live just west of Kitchener. 2 of 4 days it was bad. Other two they were calling for bad weather and they just cancelled it anyways. 🤪
    • A couple nephews and a niece live up there and the number of snow days they get/got for school is crazy, totally uncalled for based on weather you get.    we are dealing with some people who are concerned or “sensitive” about driving their kids to hockey game and practice based on some snow on the ground.   Its is crazy that so many forget where we live, potential situations we need to deal with vs. feeling the need to hunker down and making it a news story of the snow that might fall from the sky.    I also feel even though the towns are clearing more of the snow now than in the past vs leaving some snow or more on the sides of the road, etc…their reaction to a potential “significant” snowfall now, is not as good as before…they tend to wait to deal with it or municipalities / contractors are not aligned the best to do as good or efficient job that could be done as they did before when there was a significant snowfall - maybe I’m wrong on this thought though.
    • Not a reference to the actual flower, but more the human type. My wife and I shovelled our driveways last night along with paths and walkways around the yard followed by watching the news and hearing of a significant weather event in and around Owen Sound. huh? I didnt even bother to fire up the blower. So we jumped in the ol' work van and went for a drive out of town to see what this "event" was all about. There was some blowing snow on some sections of the highway but nothing that would keep us at home. Has it been that long since we had winters or are folks just getting that delicate? Where did the sense of adventure go? School busses get cancelled if there snow in the forecast? If there was snow on the roads our school bus driver expected that half of us were going to be bumper hitching to school. Kids now dont even know the term "bumper hitching". It was a national pass time and anyone's bumper was fair game. Folks in our neighbourhood knew if they drove slow enough kids were on it. Some even made a game of trying to shake us off.
