stoney
For those wondering about “Covid rules”, zero issues here with staying in rooms with people not from your same household.
1049
Not many pictures today just a couple inches of new snow in Chandler but a foot in murdockville and probably 20 inches on the way to Mount St Pierre
stoney
Stayed last night at the Le Relais 22 Milles inc. An extremely hospitable place…. basic from an accommodation standpoint though. The owners son treated all the guests to some singing, banjo and guitar playing at the bar - it was a very “normal” night out…. great times. Todays ride was great as well, landed at Hotel du Jardin for the night.

We were up there a few years ago having lunch and a crew of guys came in with pretty sweet sleds all decked out with lights, extra gas etc. One guy sat and had a beer with us. It was Rob Gardner from cains quest. Amazing guy with some great stories. They had scouted the route they were going on with a helicopter. All backcountry riding headed toward chibaugamauo.

The number of the off trail sleds you see and tracks leading to who knows where is pretty cool. Trucks and sleds decks with mountain machines makes you feel like you are out west. The land all around here sounds like it’s owned or controlled by a government body….every one leases the land on the “mountains” is what I’m told. Riding around or through mont Valin today was a great ride - so much off trail trails through the hills….and the two massive trail groomers we passed was pretty neat, big units with some massive drags. 2
stoney
Another great day on the trails. Woke up to fresh snow at Hostel from km 31….,not sure how much, maybe 6 inches or so. Heading to next stop at the St Laurence…arrived short while ago - short run today. Not many pictures…. But the BRP app works awesome, highly recommend using it, but means my phone is tied up with my glove box and too lazy to remove it.

stoney
Returned home real early this AM from our trip - we all decided to head home Sat afternoon upon arrival to Shawinigan vs. staying the night in Shawinigan & leaving Sun Morning as originally planned. Just over 1000 miles - was a pretty relaxed trip, some short days and some longer days, but nothing crazy. The ride back through and closer to the Mont Valin area was a lot rougher than going the other way - not a lot a sleds to be seen really, but those longer big lug tracks really make a mess of the trails. The last night stay over was at Relais 22 miles again - another fun night at the bar with a bunch of other riders. Was talking to a guy Sat morning at Relais 22 miles that organizes off trail cross country races in that area, he had a group that was just starting one - sounded pretty interesting & I am sure one hell of a race through the bush. Stayed at Universel in Alma the night before. Managed to see two moose running down the trails between Alma and Relais 22 miles as well. On the last 20km down the river into Shawinigan, my brothers 998 Kitty Cat broke down - overheated really bad in plenty of snow, something went seriously wrong, had to tow him the rest of the way, thankfully close to base. Did a quick google search and it looks like they have a problem with this - could not tell where it was coming from, but it was leaking antifreeze and boiling/bubbling real good. A few more pictures that I took as well that I do not think I posted yet.

zoso
Had a great time up at agnew lake lodge. New owners are awesome. Spent time with friends from massey and webbwood. Did some ice fishing on a few back lakes. Caught a splake. Rode some trails and had dinner with our friends each night as they kept their sleds there for the week. A couple of days before our departure the f1100 puked out all the oil. The old cat with 65000 kms on it ran great, go figure. Cassandra had to head back to work so she gave us her vector to use. Great time.
