2021 Yamaha’s

They always did a lot of stuff that on an individual level, made no sense.

Never were a nickel and dime, screw customers on warrantee, cut corners kind of manufacturer.

They're not in a receivership dodging buy-out friendly sketchy future situation like some other manufacturers.

Yamaha is huge.

Anything could happen.

Meanwhile, I figure my sleds are at about 1/2 life, from a motor standpoint.

When Cat goes, will Yamaha get out of sleds, or back into them?

I think they will be out. They sell a ton of out boards and boat engines and atv’s and motor cycles and scooters are extremely popular. Would love an xmax too but not available in Canada. small power equipment. Dealer near me just does boats now. No more sleds gave  it up.

I think building sleds for Yamaha and atvs for Tracker/Bass Pro is what Textrons business plan is for AC in the future.

Bought by a defense contractor.

Textron.

I can't see them continuing using Yamaha motors.

They also bought out a motor manufacturer, the name escapes me.

Several of my "die hard" Cat friends are moving on.

Reluctantly.

For those of y'all that don't remember this - Textron owned Polaris back in the mid/late 70's.

Pic from my 1975 Owners Manual for my new Town and Country 175 - whch was a GREAT kids sled.

Top out aboot 70 klicks, but you couldn't shake me in the trails. (single path through woods, not logging roads)

As for Yammi - I see that have a 2 stroke Mtn Max offered aggin.

Looks like a blue Cat, but I'm guessing that it has Yammi clutches yet?

I don't think that insert would work w/ a 3/8" drill (to quote our m/c shop crib attendant when he couldn't find the 2" roughing cutter I needed when I was an apprentice)

A friend had a TC175 too. Neat little sled.

Spring Power Surge not much of an incentive imo, wondering if/when they will sweeten the deal ??

Probabily fall is my guess, but maybe they sell well and are a low volume unit so not much incentive. Have to wait a year maybe for fizz to die out.

The chain case on them is a weak point.  Poor engineering. Friends srx failed at 4000miles. Previous viper also let go as well.

Does not trust his machine . Maybe if you baby it they will last. They look pretty on a tow rope though.
