Yup, like that idiot in the USA a couple years ago that ran into a helicopter, that had landed on the trail, and he ran his sled into the copter, and was trying to blame the accident on the helicopter, because the helicopter shouldn,t of landed on the trail. Amazing how many sledders don,t seem to grasp the concept that you are suppose to be in care of, and control of, the sled your are driving. Poor decisions, are sometimes very costly, painful, and sometimes fatal. It is totally the drivers responsability to be in control of the vehicle they are driving.

Ya, to bad the renewal date didn,t coincide with something simple to remember like your birthday. Who reminds these folks to wipe their butts after using the can ? Lots of stupid being blamed on covid, but I,m kinda starting to wonder if other factors are in play.

I believe Calabogie has been doing hill climb races like that in late spring.

Even if sledders want to unlawfully ride the trails, they will be breaking laws by opening locked gates, and I cann,t imagine how crappy the trails would be, with zero grooming. And then consider the liability issues. NOT GOING TO BE A GOOD WINTER FOR HONEST LAW ABIDING SLEDDERS.

How much are you asking for it, and where is it located ?

Not really, once they get your vin, they know you got a turbo. Also, if you lie to them, good luck with a claim.

Lots of hype, from all the different brand cheerleeders. Unfortunately, what you ride as great and new innovations at these early demo rides, is not necessarily what you may be getting when your order finally arrives in late fall. The sled you ride in the demo may have 20 HP more stuffed into the tune. A very easy thing to do these days. The one you receive will be dialed back, for warranty sake. I,m always amazed how gullible sledders are, and how easily they get sucked into the hype. Look back at past performance from all the brands, and make your choices carefully. Throw out all the brand loyalty b.s. What would you really expect to hear from all the brand loyal chosen ones ? What makes them such experts, after a few days of wining and dining ?

If they want sledders to obey the trail status map, don,t you think they should be updated daily ? If not, I doubt if sledders are going to treat the OFSC trail status guide as gospel. Again, if the gates are open, most sledders are going to use the trails, whether they are marked red or yellow or green. Maybe they can send up an OFSC satellite to check on them from space. That makes about as much sense as updating the trail status twice a week, during what is suppose to be peak riding season.

Until the trail status gets updated by each club at least once a day, 7 days a week, sledders will continue to ride the trails as they see fit, unless the gates are locked. The season is just to short to depend on updates 2-3 times a week.

Yup, just looking for an excuse like that as the final straw. LOL

Out of curiosity, what was the speed limit for the trains that use to travel the railways that we now use as trails ? The 50 kph speed limit is absolutely crazy. I,m at the stage, after 50 years of sledding, with all the BS going on with the OFSC and landowner agreements and insurance issues going on now, that IF and when I ever get a ticket for speeding, it will be the end of my sledding career. The sled and trailer will be sold, twith the decision to never get back into sledding again. Like many others, I,m very, very close to the limit of BS I want to put up with.

Unfortunately, this looks like the beginning, of the end.

I,m about 2 kms from the St. Lawrence River near Prescott. Just got in from blowing snow and cleaning up the sidewalks. We got all of 15-20 cms. Nice wet packy stuff. Hopefully we get at least that much or more again this week-end.

Would it not make more sense to keep them at yellow ? Doesn,t red indicate that we are NOT suppose to be on those trails, ever ?

I,m very anal about how I use any motorized vehicle, and that includes my Kubota tractor, which I wash and wax after every summer use. All my stuff is kept pristine, and I would never lend anything motorized , even to my closest friends, or relatives. I won,t own a vehicle that has had any re-paint, from even the slightest collision. I will not even ride anyone elses sled in our riding group, because I don,t want them mis-treating my sled. Borrowing a 2 stroke time bomb from a friend for a week-end, is asking for trouble. When anyone asks to borrow my stuff, I politely suggest to them that I would prefer they rent one. I gave up owning 2 stroke sleds many years ago, because of the lack of reliability.

Tough for a lot of guys to get financing for private sales, especially for that amount of cash. Dealers don,t seem to have much of an issue getting financing for anyone these days. I found that out when a young guy wanted to buy my sled for 6K. He couldn,t get the bank to give him a loan. 2 weeks later, he was driving a brand new sled, financed thru the selling dealer.

I had that same problem. Try hitting the Tab button when you get to that point, and the screen will scroll up.

I talked to the OFSC to-day. I do have Internet Explorer. They said to use the Tab key on my laptop, and it worked, bringing me to the page that asked for the next, next. Permit is on order. Thanks for all those that tried to help. Glad it was a nice simple fix.

I just got off the phone with a nice helpful lady from the OFSC. I wasn,t able to scroll down far enough on my laptop to get to the last NEXT prompt I needed to get to the payment portion. She advised me to use the Tab key, which got allowed me to scroll down far enough to get to the last NEXT prompt I needed. Pretty easy when you know how. LOL Thanks to evreyone that offered suggestions. Great site.
