    • LOL - welcome back....life is just busier these days - but that is good and not bad at all!   I only mentioned the weather since last year was good, I do not think we have had back to back good winters in a while - but it was an awesome summer, lakes were at record temps, especially the big ones that take longer to freeze, so that should mean good winter, but we will see.   It would be nice to see record sales too - people may be on the fence with the reports shared, which could mean wait for updates on how things go with the system and then buy, at full pop....or people thinking need to support system and buy to do their part, but too many Ontario folks that are cheap when it comes to certain things, and won't.    See what happens and make the best of what is presented.
    • This one is a double edged sword though. If we have a great snowy winter - the costs go UP! cause you need to maintain those trails more and longer.   In a perfect world, we'd sell a record number of permits and have the worst winter on record! That will help with the reset lol.   Also, welcome back, I was afraid you got muzzled or something - been too quiet.   And lastly, yes, great to see Nutter sharing his thoughts again - he's been on all sides of it and involved in every capacity forever.
    • You can look at some of my videos from over the years, and then decide yourself if you want to capture the memory. I only put music to DUB5 Magpie river run. Video with the most (a whopping 269 views) is my Gaspse roll over end of the trip video, in which a severed my quad tendon on that roll-over. You can see a wide assortment of videos from our saddle bag trips over the years. I used a small helmet side mount camera, like a gopro back then. The company went under, so no software support.   youtube look up apexltx56
    • a big x2 on the the above!! It is also great to see @Nutter for a change sharing some insight from his perspective who has been a very strong supporter of the OFSC and heavily involved forever it seems....as well as many others of course!    As for the MTO/government piece - as stated already, they felt the extremely conservative increase was bad for the optics and the province - wait until the real affects of choices made are realized I am sure as soon as this year with the major reduction in the provincial system from not just the relative small number of trails lost, but more importantly the people that support the system to the equipment needed to keep it running - there is going to be a massive hit to the Ontario tourism and billions of dollars that it sees from this sport. People say it needs to get bad before it gets better - I do not think a recovery is going to be possible in Ontario for this sport. And as spidy keeps mentioning - what is the long term goal or plan B or plan C to deal with it - I do not think there is one and the closed doors mentality might be to let it sink in the hopes there will be a resurrection of sorts based on the bottom being hit.   Better be a ton of enforcement this year because with all the bad news being shared on social media and places like this, lots of permits will not be bought and people will just ride - early season permits sales will be a huge flag should it drop off significantly.   Just imagine if this year is also a bust from a weather standpoint....
