    • Another awesome day. Trails were much better, some even too hard and fast.  Cold day as well - started somewhere in the feel like mid -30’s…and sure felt colder as we headed further north.  lucky or almost not so lucky to see a couple of moose trail side and a almost dead snowshoe hare! a couple of pics as well.
    • Oddly enough, have come across quite a few branches and small pieces of cut tree on the trails over the past 5 days - each time I avoided them for fear of just this, ruining a perfectly good day based on bad luck!
    • We checked the weather before the trip and thought to ourselves, should go as planned, all looks “okay” 😂 stuff happens and all good - just glad we happen to see the trail map and saw the issues, would have sucked more to head that way to run into 10 foot drifts and then find last minute accommodations.  for sure it’s colder than the forecast, no biggie, better than the other way.
    • My wife loves her cricket….the possible revenue streams….🤔   I guess might make carrying that other piece of paper you get with the permit all that more important.
    • As long as we all learn from these lessons, and no one is hurt, it is all good.   Once we started riding the far north with no towns for great distances, we adopted the, you are responsible for the headlight behind you "rule". If you lose a headlight, you slow until you see a light at least. If you dont see it slowing down, you stop for a "reasonable" amount of time. Once that time is up, you go back slowly on the far right, looking for the person. We stop and regroup at all main turns or corridors. I have chewed many an ass for leaving people on the trail behind, in our group, and groups we come across.    It is especially important up there... The golden rule (1 hour to get to medical help,) in an emergency medical situation is already hard enough, with the distances, and no cell coverage. It is easy and fast to become a statistic. Can you imagine losing a friend on the trail and having to explain to the family, wife, etc... what happened? I cannot fathom it.    I am glad everything worked out. Ski
