    • I was just at our local club meeting last night, which is a neighbour club to Glencoe, and heard some pretty bad stories about what the OFSC is doing. On Aug 5 the board of governors made the decision to reduce trails, with clubs finding this out on Aug 12., which was AFTER the deadline for submitting motions at the AGM, effectively giving the clubs NO VOICE to help shape or challenge the discussion. Never was a 25% reduction in funding considered. Our trail co-ordinator was even trying to talk to the CEO, suggesting that with the cutbacks in groomers that they are forcing through, that he would buy our groomer, and instead of the club only having access to 1 groomer (due to OFSC pulling the 2nd), he would keep it as a backup and fuel it, as long as the OFSC insurance covered it during grooming operations. That was turned down   And our trail co-ordinator has now received a letter from the CEO that is rather troubling, threatening him with legal action due to him approaching the ONLY PAID OFSC staff member who was in attendance at the Toronto show, and asking some serious questions.   Its about to get real ugly.
    • my vest has the heated neck collar as well and one of the things I hope works well to heat that area of my body for the same reasons.
    • Saw this..... Comments are not very good
    • Why not by 2 at the lower price and support the sport and increase number of permits purchased?
    • My buddy and I run "Gears" heated jacket liner and liner gloves, plugged into the sled 12v. It is fused and direct to the battery, which also enables me to use the same connector to charge the battery. We have run the Gears stuff for many years, as both of us are the over 65, and our trips are a week long saddle bag. You guys remember the -38 in Cochrane years back when no sleds started. 2 hours later when the sleds were finally started he and I were toasty with the heated clothing, as it had warmed up to -34c. What I really like it is the jacket liner has a heat strip in the neck collar which keeps my neck warm, which helps to avoid a stiff neck towards the end of the trip.
