Xc man why you ride you should have found one with r on end 😎. I have been looking for a 650,  136 hard to find it seems. Don't want an xc has to be an XCR or VRI maybe but rather have xcr I think.

I dont think I'll use the xcr to it's limits anyway. I prefer a 600/650 in the 129. Seem rare so far. There will plenty more sleds to come yet although in my experience they will go up in price. Especially if we see early snow. lol

Eye ballin this too. Bought the trailer unseen and picked it up last night. Better than I expected. Zero rust. Of course I forgot my plate but I think you have a grace period as long as you have the paper work

Go with the Cat, I am with Blackstar, and can’t trust $$ being spent on maintenance when you won’t fork out $35.00 for proper stickers.

Ohhhh, got to question the mental stability of an owner who puts the Ontario license sticker on the tunnel. EEEEsh.

Perhaps a guy from QC now living in ON…lol

I am firm believer in wearing a belt as well when riding and thinks it helps a lot for those unsuspecting hits.

Sled shouldn't bottom though. I have been looking for an xcr this tine around. Vr1 seems abit too soft for my liking. I am finding if south is open it rarly smooth 😎

Got the story on that. Her viper turned the tunnel into a tossed salad first day of a week long trip after breaking the front skid shaft. Tossed everything out the back like it went through a shredder. Totalled. They went to the closest dealer and bought another sled.

"That time again" came and went. Picked up the trailer last night and left it at the shop. Took my boat to storage today and went to peak at the Polaris. Took the trailer with me. After an hour of small talk, I said I have 8k in my pocket and a trailer in your driveway. I didnt expect them to come down $1500, but....

I found a 2020 Riot on the weekend but it's a bit of a drive to look/get it.  It checks off my boxes though.

I recall these had really good reviews with the change in skid from the fox float skid helping there trailer manners.

There were two variations as well, one more off trail based and one more of a true cross over.

With some nice graphic package too.

Yep.  The Riot X had the narrower front end and eventually the alpha rail.  I found one with a Kimpex removable seat on it.  Only problem is it is up in Timmins.  Bit of a haul

It's still early for sled listings. Maybe post up what your looking for with a good description. Alot of folks havent even thought about sleds yet but it might be sitting right around the corner from you.

I just need a single trailer now. I picked up the double because it was close, same as the sled. I dont have time in the fall to be diken around, so I just tend to get shyte done. Unfortunately this trailer wont fit in the portable shelter. No room for a bigger shelter.

I posted it for trade on a single but people seem to think I might want their 4x8 utility trailer.:umno:

I only have a few blocks to get to a local drop spot. If I hit the highway it's never very far. I tarp the sled, throw the cover on it and hit the carwash on return. Sucks not having space at my house. Last year I picked up a down and dirty trailer just to get a sled home from the Keswick/Georgina area. Sold the trailer and ended up right back in Keswick for another trailer. I found one this morning right back in the same damn area.wtf. Geographically, I hate going there from Owen Sound. Having to go so far south to get across the river before heading back north makes it seem like a long drive. Too much traffic for my liking.

Seems like all the decent deals I come across are in that area or towards Ottawa. I'm definitely not going as far as Ottawa for a bargain.

Morning rant now subsiding as the caffein level rises.

Well that made for a long day. Got back around 11pm. Not a pretty trailer, but everything is new and it's off my plate. new wheels, tires, hubs and bearings, lights, wiring, tongue jack and tilt assist. 15 year old Northland single with no rot. It'll do what I need it to do. Just a quick trip to Royal for gear left to do. And of course tear the sled down to look for gremlins.

We better get some damn snow. lol

Sooo here goes..

I would highly recommend that you look at a procross chassis (ZR6000) from about 2017 onwards.  You can find then in 129s and 137s.  I used to own a '17 RS edition (129) that had incredible acceleration and was a dream to throttle steer.   The 600s are bullet proof and the rest of the sled is pretty well built.  There's always a few things to tinker with like beefier rear springs and a rear axle kit but if you can find a well maintained unit and give it a good going over, you'll be very happy.  One note, out of the box, cats understeer big time. This is easily fixed by tightening the limiter strap 1 hole, adjusting the ski springs, and using spacers under the ski spindles.

Is there another way to steer. lol

Pulling the limiter down and shimming the ski rubbers can make a night and day difference. My ol' srx 700 was on rails afterwards.

How are you liking the xcr? Is handling everything expected?

  • 2 weeks later...

If it was the Polaris 600 I would have bought it right away. Just not a Doo guy.

I wasn’t either until I bought one, like all manufactures, they have there issues, but I’m happy with mine.
The G4 chassis for a taller person isn’t ideal though, but a higher seat makes it better.

I had older Doo's from the 90's and mid 2000's that were fine. Had a 17 Blizzard and hated it. Wife liked it, so thats all that mattered

Those SkiDoo 600s are great until you need to do ANYTHING under the hood.

They have to be the worst sled ever built for access.

Wow. I forgot how much shyte I would need starting from scratch. I sold everything last year with intentions of getting out. I should have known better. In the last two weeks I bought a trailer, followed by a sled and then got a second trailer more suitable. Helmet, stand, jacket, lift, dollies and fluids. Havent had time to even look at the sled yet and of course I need the trail pass.

Fortunately, last years sale cash went back into the trusty mad fund. :smil9:
