Gas pumps at our doorstep 😀 Lunch & Dinner Relais Onatchiway Auberge 31 La Chapelle (closes early on Sunday) Gas (91 octane) at all these locations We also ventured out to the ice cave, that's a must! 😜 Temperature was -20 C and sunny on the first day of riding. Crisp and clear riding conditions. Second day Temps were around -12 C with overcast and sunny periods and some flurries. Third day Temps fluctuated from -14 C to -7 C overcast. 3. Made the drive to KL this morning. All the way to south of Temagami was light to heavy rain. plus 9 south of Temagami. North of Temagami temp started dropping. Roads were okay to NL. By NL it was -14 and freezing rain. After NL to 112 cutoff we drove on white ice with heavy heavy winds. Trailer was pushed and wagged sideways and pulled truck a few times. 60kph drive from NL to Kirkland. Cutoff at 112 into KL was whiteouts. probably 6” of snow on road in KL.

  4. I ain't doing that math this season, no way. Seeing the posts on Facebook of people assuming there will be a discounted permit next year.....lol I've spent more on carbides than permits this winter. The permit is the cheap part.

  5. If it’s been fogged properly with stabilizer in the gas, leave it as is and do not start it.

  7. Nope. People are idiots. Permit is at least 100% undervalued.

  9. And now we get this for Orillia Description Snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon. Hazards: Snowfall accumulations of 20 to 40 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour. Northwesterly winds with gusts up to 80 km/h developing this afternoon. Reduced visibility, to near zero at times, in heavy snow and blowing snow. Timing: Beginning this afternoon or early evening through Thursday afternoon. Discussion: Snow squalls are expected to develop this afternoon. Significantly reduced visibilities, to near zero at times, are expected due to strong northwesterly wind gusting to 80 km/h. The snow squalls are expected to be the most intense tonight. Snow squalls will weaken and shift north of the area by early Thursday evening. An upgrade to a blizzard warning may be required should the strong winds persist long enough into this evening particularly for areas near the Lake Huron and Georgian Bay shores. ### Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Road closures are possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.

  10. Just think of all the money saved this year...... From gasoline, wear and tear on sled/truck, lodgings to heating your home.

  11. If you're there to ride - all you need is a place to take a dump and put your head down - on your own pillow though. Go ride if you can - who cares about the accomodations. We have people all over this country LIVING in tents!

  13. The triangle of Timmins/ Kap and Cochrane seems to be getting the biggest amounts with Hearst and Kirkland Lake on the outsides. I seen several posts on Facebook yesterday of people trying to book accommodations in Cochrane and everything was full except the NAI. Then people were asking how bad is the NAI? lol

  15. Got into Kirkland lake about midnight. Was approx 5 degrees. It is now 7:45 and it’s minus 2 with a thunderstorm and some lightning along with ice pellets. Not sure about the trails. Looked thin and a lot of snirt. Going out shortly to take stock on the trails and talk to locals. Lightning just hit the telephone pole outside the hotel and the in room heater sparked As I was sitting next to it. THIS IS CRAZY.

  16. I never bitched about the weather actually. What I bitched about is the blatant ineptness of TWN to predict snowfall and all the hype they create.

  19. Yes, the manufacturers will extend warranties because of poor weather and lack of riding - this get's richer every day....... Oh wait, I can see a way they could do it..........it will be built into the price of the new units. This new "warranty" will be automatically included - and the purchase price of the sled will be $75,000.00.......

Hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy it while it lasted. I’m hopeful for another good stretch of weather w some significant snow.
