    • I put bergstrom triple points with shims and ski savers on the polaris. They are surely better than what came with it. No complaints. I have never used snow trackers.
    • This makes total sense. I would even settle for a prohibition against suing the landowner. That would remove a major impediment to obtain land use permission.  As the operator of the trail, the OFSC and or clubs have a duty of care to riders accessing the trail. That duty of care is specified in the Occupiers Liability Act which basically says that for recreational trails the occupier cannot knowingly create a hazard. That should not be a very difficult bar to achieve.     the problem with trying to bar all legal action against the landowners and the OFSC is the legal community lobby group. You would be barring access to a major source of settlement cash as well as the enormous legal fees these suits generate.  As an alternative I would propose that if the plaintiff is unsuccessful in their claim, they and their lawyers would be liable for all costs incurred by the defendants.  This would curtail the bulk of the frivolous claims without impeding anyone’s right to pursue a claim.
    • What is the best size trailer for 3 sleds. I prefwr not to play tetrus to get them it it but still want the smallest I can get away with.
    • Buying three permits. Last season we rode from home once, however that was due mostly to work getting in the way. Obviously we need to charge much more for the permits. It is still the lowest cost part of the sledding equation. We will still do our trips away amd go where there are good conditions and open trails while hoping to ride from home a few times. I think we need to look at this for what it is. Inflation has cost us all a great deal in our personal lives, and being the ofsc runs on a very thin line financially it is not a surprise we see a cash flow issue. Keeping a trail open that sees very little use costs money, so if we do not have the money then what can we do? Charge more. 400 bucks seems reasonable to me. It is over 100 to ski for a day, sleds cost 15k on average, pick up trucks are now 70k, trailers cost plenty. The fear that folks will no longer participate due to permit price I think is unfounded. A meal out for two in a decent place will set you back 200. Looking at value per dollar spent and the cost of other memberships or activities the permit is worth way more than we are paying. Last winter was great for snow, and I have hope formthe same this winter. Whatever happens we are staying in it for the long run.
    • Back in 2018 I was riding towards Timmins and there was big drifts on right side of trail. I thought to myself I better stay out of them encase someone drift busting on wrong side of trail. Sure enough a group comes thru and a few yahoo's  are drift busting on wrong side of trail.  It just doesn't get any more stupid than that. If I would have stayed right I would have been hit dead on. 😂  I agree you can't remove all risk with language because you have no control over decisions some people make when trail riding.
