    • Every thing we do, hobby sport is expensive, so pick your poison or passion. The cheapest part of this sport is the trail pass for Ontario and people still complain. Hockey golf, skiing all expensive. Im lucky that  to be able to participate in the sport, its probably my worst addiction, we talk about it 9-10 months ayear and ride the remainder. One thing i do is have a TFSA, which my wife  call the Fri#%@*ging  snommobile account, I save money all year  so its not a big exit of cash during the sled season. In the past I have rented cottages in winter for the season, split cost with friends, leaving the sleds  at the cottage and not towing saves time and cost.  I am fortunate I have afriend with a cottage and he welcomes  guests, we all chip in with cost and splitting on groceries. As I get older more of my riding buddies are departing sport, I plan on riding as long as I am able to. This year is an exception and I have been able to trailer within an hour and ride, some of the southern trails there hasnt been enough snow in many years to ride,
    • I see what you are getting at. Sledding still reasonable today if you buy used stuff. I make same today as 10 years ago, have no more disposable income, if anything have abit less because of high equipment costs. We are just doing more volume where we can, so equipment over head don't eat up too much of net revenue.  Have to have some fun. I don't need to ride 3000 miles a season either. Do I plan on quitting no, as long as there are some local trails  to ride. I still own sleds. My truck 16 years old, trailer 15 years sleds 4 years old and other one is almost 10 years old 👌.
    • I'm trying with my kids.  They are only 8 and 6 so I have a few years ahead of me.
