    • However the money came, which seems to be a focal point for good reason as it may or may not show the lack of being proactive given the expected short comings - the landscape has changed a lot, this year and last year applied a lot of pressure on the folks donating their time between land owners agreements and shutting down trails to maybe some trails reopen based on this late money donation, the lack of money that was evident, with no approved permit increase to soften the blow that was forecasted with the massive rise in costs across the board over the last few years. Sledding is a volatile sport, now more then ever it seems, grant came this year, which is awesome and better late then never, but what about next year if this year is a flop or if it is a great success, or the year after - the future of sledding in Ontario and what that realistically looks like. Just look at the doubts and questions about the sport here, this is not contusive to keeping the people already involved interested or possible enticing new ones, especially if you happen to glance at the social media.
    • At least we got some funding. It don't bother me if trails that were shut down don't all re open for this winter. Let's just get system going and main trails open and good condition, and we can have a great season for a change, not having to worry about going into a huge deficit for next winter. We are on a level playing field again. Hopefully permit sales are strong enough to carry us thru this winter. Kudo's. To everyone that's trying to make it all happen. Thank-you!
    • Reading some of the posts, comments, etc....on socials the last little bit have been a gong show with the spinning, left field comments and how it seems many people are truly in the dark with the steps, process, etc.....and I am sure some just doing this on purposes because they have a twisted mind.   Is there a social media person within the OFSC office, if so, should the OFSC not be putting a greater emphasis on sending clear communication on socials what is being done, in the works, process, communications, initiatives, etc....in this day and age, I think it is required tool given the world we live in - if there is not a person wearing that hat, perhaps there needs to be. I get the club level meeting that people always state to be part of if you want info, that I am sure the message will be slightly slanted from club to club given the levels, people involved, possible agendas and some things lost in translation that tends to happen - so there should be a needs to have better corporate level broad communication on the system as a whole for accountability and overall knowledge.....like how this grant came to fruition, work done in the back end, when it started, plans in the works for the future to close these gaps that caused trail closures, etc....
    • Blue Spruce resort is located just east of Dwight on hwy60 and the Oxtongue river. They have nice cabins with kitchens, and fire places. If you want to dine out, there are restaurants in Dwight, Dorset, and Huntsville.
    • Many MPPs and MPs were well aware of the state of things well before Sept, some where also even posting about on their own FB pages. This Phil Harding guy seems like a bit of a nut job realtor trying to make a name for himself in local political arena.  MPP Carlton George Darouze long time volunteer otherwise known as Leb Sled was all over this back in the spring.  Again someone using miss information to try and discredit others, and organized snowmobiling in general.  Just because MP Graydon Smith didn't know about this till Sept 23 certainly doesn't mean others didn't. That almost tells me that he doesn't have a strong relationship with his local constituency Parry Sound Muskoka, or didn't care before then ?   Because we all know all that Dist 7 and 10 clubs were very vocal from the start, as were all the others.
