    • Sorry Nutter, just to touch on this. Preparing a quick report to outline this would not be very difficult, or cost anything ( could be done simply using Excel ), if the data is there ( collected ). and someone is willing to donate their time to compile it. It's not accounting for tax purposes etc, its just data entry.    I would agree the amount of work to go back and find that data after the fact would be ridiculous, but moving forward, if you really wanted to know this information, you could track it in real time and reconcile it pretty easily at seasons end.
    • I think the reduction in the groomer fleet is going to be more of a downfall than the lost trail mileage. How many groomers are they eliminating? Quebec permit is good value @ $425.00 because they have so much more grooming capacity. From Craig’s recent article it shows Quebec has almost twice the capacity.    Ontario has 270 groomers, so what percentage are we losing. Every club or District has its own unique grooming challenges, terrain, mileage, location of groomer sheds etc. Not fair some bean counter in Barrie with a spread sheet is telling the clubs what they can do with each groomer. Take Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers as an example, a club that has worked hard trying to provide good grooming. Presently 3 groomers going to two. So now when one groomer breaks down they are at 50% capacity vs 2/3.   With the mild temperatures in southern ON it is impossible to keep trails in good conditions for more than a couple days.   Lot of the older groomers they won’t get more than $20,000-$30,000.00 for them. Far better keeping most of those units active or for spares vs fire saling them for little gain.
    • True! - good point.   Hopefully the people who are able to step up step up then.
    • Yep - received the emailed policy that renews in another month or two.
    • Could you imagine if RR was on here - he would be tearing you, or others to pieces, all while stating out the other side of his mouth that he supports the efforts....lol.   I do agree that has been and still needs to be some high level granularity level of consistent info shared with the permit buyers - that some will appreciate and others not so much. That article that the intrepid sledder put out about some of the expenses/costs across the three provinces was informative - but you have to read it.
