We are thinking of heading to Ville Marie. Any suggestions where to stage from ?  We would stay there first and last night and saddle bag the rest. Thanks in advance

Stayed in V Marie once never again . If the door to the motel would have been 4 inches wider we would have brought the sleds into the room . Everyone in the bar\ restaurant had the look of desperation in their eyes . La Bannik  is top shelve cabins only l believe .  Table cloth, tall stemmed glasses may be pricey . Great place for couples vacation or lunch . Teme Rose in Temiskaming is the place if they have availability .

We stayed at Motel Louise one time. Motel wasn't fancy but was clean and relatively easy to get to from the north end of town. Fuel across the street. Food was good in the restaurant and the rum was excellent.

This right here⬆️ in my opinion your wasting 100kms of valuable seat time driving to ville marie. Those 100k's are great shake down miles for making sure all is well with gear and sleds etc.... The rail line is in great shape. The short connector trail in temis to the rail line is short snow and a bit bumpy but will improve soon.

So can't get into the tem Rose.  Booked Auberge Canadian   spelling not the best LoL

They used to have a big parking area right across the street from the Motel Nick. I'm not sure if its still there but know a guy from the sled club often parked there when riding in Quebec. Hope you guys have a great time!

Some points if interested. Where the trail ends behind the either Walmart or CT, across a big parking lot (to gas station) and then cross the roadway to Quality is tough if parking lot is bare. Quality good spot with restaurant right next door. You can do RN to Val-Dor in about half day, so out and back (if you stay on 83 and not go local over the top) (186Km each way)in a day. 83 is a nice trail, with open quick sections. Very nice riding area.

2 days riding so far. Letang to rouyan yesterday. Was all very very good. Our group hasn't done that and we  all agreed it didn't seem like a rail bed. Royan and la Cage. Met 2 buddy s there so now we are 12.  Today atmosphere for lunch for 12 and 10 return to rouyan. Having supper at la Cage. Trails are all really good. We are hitting enough rocks here and there though. Snow is fairly loose.  Just not a lot of base. Got stopped yesterday and today by police. Trail patrol also checked us. So 3 times  . Enforcement seems to be more then I have ever seen

Sounds like a fantastic ride so far . The snow is definitely better across 93 towards Amos the deepest snow was to the east of Val-dor

Just checking for the papers LoL

The three things of QC riding that can get ON riders are:

1. Must have Left hand mirror;

2. Exhaust has to be stock; and

3. Sometimes "new" Police officers to the snowmobile patrol,  don't accept custom license numbers, even though the FCMQ pretty well every year reminds the SQ that sled registration legality is based on the province of registration.

Glad to hear the riding has been good relative to this winter.

The Motel Louise is fine.    Its an older motel but the rooms are clean and there is a decent restaurant next door.

Gas is across the street and its easy to get to the trail.

Nice thing is that they will let you leave your rig on site.

We left from Temiskaming on Monday am.   Stayed at the Tem Rose.    Great place!    Highly recommended.

Rode to Val Dor (340kms) stayed the night at the Forestel.    Nice place.    Expensive for everything.

We rode to Lebel Sur Quévillon last night and are just getting ready to head out and go north to Mattagami and loop down to Amos for the night.

Trails are excellent with zero traffic.   I would rate them from 8 to 11 out of 10 right now.

I just read an article that there was a 2-day initiative in QC on the trails stopping 3000 sleds at the end of Jan issuing 400 tickets for various offences from speeding, to no permit, no helmet, not obeying signs, riding in areas that sleds are not allowed, no license/insurance and under the influence.

We headed out from Matagami this am in -24c temps.

We stopped at a warm up cabin part way up and hung out for a bit.

Got gas and snacks in Matagami and started to work our way south.

As an FYI, the hotel in Matagami looks to be almost completed.

After a lunch at a warm up shack(s) we headed south to Amos.

Fun fact.    An 850 E-tec and a 900R run out of gas within a couple of feet of each other.    Luckily I made it to the gas station and knew there was a problem when the other guys didn’t show up.    I ended up BUYING a gas can and taking 10L to both of my buddies.

We made it to Amos and our rooms at the Amosphere.    The hotel part is still good but the restaurant has gone downhill in the last couple of years.

All Doo’s by the looks of it, but only a couple ran out of gas….lol

I'm guessing some of you have a gas caddy at home but chose not to take for this trip!

Buddy and I did the run down from Matagami years ago on our Vectors, no gas caddy, didn't run out. I think we had 2 litres left in the tank, and it was also -24c.
