  1. Thanks Nutter. i remember the Nevinson Road route. Hopefully with snow it is passable this winter. The Shadow Lake route would be something I will stay away from for now.
  2. Does anyone know if the B104 east of Norland is going to open or why it remains closed? I know snow conditions could be a factor and it’s a section of road running. Its about 5.5km that remains closed. it would be nice to ride east from Head Lake through to Kinmount.
  3. I have a similar Baffin boot size 12 that fits so I was a little disappointed. If you wear a 10 1/2 or 11 they would likely fit well.
  4. Brand new men’s size 12 Baffin SNOSTORM boots. Never worn. $150.00.
  5. So true the feelings when you get on the sled and crack the throttle. My best friends wife was yelling at him and I last year “Don’t you 2 idiots know your both over 50” as we raced our sleds around their farm as we have done together for the last 40 years and every time one of us gets a new sled.
  6. Read the fine print. Same as your engine blows. They are not responsible to compensate you for lost time.
  7. Nothing preventing anything from happening in this crazy world anymore. Sure You can be named in a lawsuit but we have the Good Samaritan act to protect those people who try to help. As long as they do not act with negligence. Is it better to try and help or stand back and video?
  8. So does this latest issue drive used prices higher?
  9. The Good Samaritan law protects the average people who administer first aid in emergency situations from being sued.
  10. That is brutal. It’s too bad a few volunteers couldn’t go deal with the punk. I know a few who would volunteer specially for that project.
  11. Hey just thought I would let you know yesterday I travelled 77miles on my 2020 850 switchback XCR and I used just under 20 litres of gas. A 20l can had a little left over.
  12. Maybe the OFSC could give landowners a nice winter jacket with OFSC landowner clearly written on it identifying the person wearing as a land owner? I know many will still act like asses but maybe some of the trespasser would have a minute to think before a confrontation with landowner.
  13. Yes Haliburton Forest owns a large acreage to the East of the current Haliburton Forest trail network. East road trail from the Forest connects to OFSC trails that are on Forest property. Anyone riding the OFSC trail from Haliburton Lake / Fort Irwin area north to Whitney travel along the hydro line through a large section of private property owned by Haliburton Forest.
  14. I read on FB many were let off of speeding with a warning. Lots of exhaust tickets. And 50km/hr is only a joke until your facing a 75km/hr sled on a tight corner.
  15. Anyone that road in Haliburton Forest in the 90’s can probably remember the gong show that was going on. Private trails all groomed and lots of riders drinking heavily. And knowing no police on the property at the time. Speed and Alcohol led to lots of wrecks.
  16. Hopefully in future someone can develop a smart app based on cellphone gps. Riding an area not open open and get a text message. Do not get out of closed area a fine. Found with phone turned off in a closed area you get a big fine. I know lots of reasons this will not work but it would at least increase awareness. But most of trespass/ closed trails area issues are in areas with cellphone coverage.
  17. Unfortunately this sport has had such rapid growth and a lot of the newer riders have not grown up being taught about the trail system. And it will only get worse as the self entitled brats of today’s society continue to screw up our society. Its all about instant gratification they can get.
  18. If you are using your personal pick up or vehicle for any commercial use such as hauling supplies to camp and from camp you will pay based on reported mileage use for business. Even picking up a broken sled for a customer may qualify. if they were using personal vehicles and not claiming business or commercial use and they get in an accident then insurance could cancel their coverage. Imagine being on the hook for damages or personal injury. And getting insurance coverage in Canada once previously cancelled moves you to high risk insurance.
  19. Amazon has spoiled the online shoppers of the world by giving free shipping on returns.
  20. 165km on a 850 should be no problem. That’s only 103miles. 11.2 gallon tank. That would be 9 mpg. The Poo 850’s I rode with last year were as good or better economy then my 800 Poo and I think 200km range would be easy based on when we filled up when in Kap. I actually think we calculated a range of 268km but am not 100% sure.
  21. Just an FYI the current Quebec curfew is 10pm.
  22. Yes some of the chalets are pretty nice. Amazing vacation properties. But no sled tracks so kinda suck!
  23. Mount Tremblant has some nice trails in and around the area. The main part of town is not sled friendly. First trip we stayed at a ski chalet and left sleds over by the hotel. No riding sleds around the main chalet areas as far as I could see and we were told. Second trip we stayed at one of Main hotel right off the trail and they were great to us. Parked sleds out front of hotel. Gas was pretty easy to get to. Does your co-worker sled?
  24. When I was picking up my sled from dealer the salesman said be careful on the trails. It’s going to be crazy with the number of new riders on high powered sleds and no respect. And you have to factor in high horsepower not trail friendly sleds in some cases. How many long track big paddle track narrow front end sleds have been sold to young kids to go offtrail? These poor handling sleds will become missiles on the trails as young Chris Burandt wannabes search out their next location for a little pow pow and their next YouTube video!
  25. That is a very nice sled. The sleds and trailer were very well cared for. A buddy of mine purchased his wife’s sled back in 2020. Gary sure was meticulous. Even put in a new battery because the old was weak. His wife’s sled had around 600km on it At the time I believe.
