  1. I hope to see some yellow or green over the weekend as well for Redstone and Kennesis Lakes. We are planning the RAP as well starting on Monday going counter clockwise from Wilberforce area. Jerry
  2. I tried do do a quick run after work today from Lindsay to Fenelon Falls maybe Kinmount. I didn't get too far when the incredible winds and blowing snow I had near zero visibility. Ended up turning around and head back home. Will try again tomorrow.
  3. Always thought there was honour and trust in the snowmobiling community. As Strong Farmer said frozen locks can mess up a trip. I have a cable lock for my Linq fuel tank so they can't steal; but lock freezes. So I lock at night. They can steal the fuel but not the container (I hope). Now I have to watch my handlebar bag as well as my luggage.
  4. we tried to book in at this location last year but was booked solid. Maybe this year we may make it.
  5. Keep us informed as I could also ride with you. I enjoy riding that area. To be honest I like riding any area that has snow. Jerry
  6. Thanks for your inspiring story and continued fight. Cancer is a nasty hidden disease that very recently took my wife away from me. Continue to stay strong. I will add you to my thoughts (I'm not much for prayers) Jerry
  7. Love to have a larger storage bag but I have a Gen 3. I may have to buy a new sled to get the newer cooler accessories.
  8. There was a guy on Facebook looking for one in the 705 sled group.
  9. If you use Facebook you can follow the local clubs for info on upcoming events, trails work parties, etc. I live in Lindsay and a member of Heart of Ontario club out of Cannington area.
  10. I like the idea of a planned trip in an unknown area. Love to go but price based on double occupancy. I would need to find another rider to come along.
  11. To add to the closures in the area the rail trail is to close due to a bridge needing replacement between Tory Hill and Wilberforce. Jerry
  12. Not only the Lions, Kinsmen and Shriners from what I hear and see. I have started helping out with Heart of Ontario Club and I am enjoying helping out so far. No interest in grooming as I ride to ride a little faster than a crawl. Jerry
  13. I'll have to ask a coworker who goes to the island if he takes the Bell truck on the ice or a sled to service phone equipment.
  14. This sounds like a dumb question. Does the ferry service run to Georgiana Island in the winter? Jerry
  15. That is news I didn't want to hear. I was hoping the E108 would be open for my Friday ride to Tory Hill. Looks like it will be the longer way around via Haliburton. Jerry
  16. I was also curious about the E108 trail as i was hoping to ride up to Wilberforce on Friday to visit friends. 509 or E108 are my only two options. Haliburton 9 is an excellent trail when there is plenty of snow so i know that won't open for a while. I may end up riding the southern trails a few more times as I see the trail from the Ganny to Bewdley just went yellow. Land permission issue resolved. Jerry
  17. So frustrating. I feel like Walter Sobchak in the Big Lebowski screaming "Am I the only one around here who cares about the rules" ...Today I help a local club brush a trail in hopes to get it open sooner than later due to City of Kawartha Lakes stalling on giving approval (which was asked many months ago.) Anyway, seen many riders most with permits and several without riding by as we worked on this closed trail and none offering help. One almost did not want to stop until the tree we were cutting fell on the ground and he had to stop. Nothing we can do but remind them of the closed trail and they need a permit. Riders know we are powerless. Lawlessness is soon upon us on the trails and more trails will close. Jerry
  18. Sorry for what you are going though. I am getting more involved in a local club and i am hearing the same stories. Makes me think I should just back away but I will not just yet. I think you should have told the trespassers that this trail is now closed because of them. If you ever want it open again "come back and find me and apologize to me and to the club for what you did". I would not reroute the trail, just end it there for the season. Maybe more broken trail links will get the message out. I know this will hurt everyone but this is how our society works. The few set the tone for the majority law biding citizens. Major increases in patrolling and higher fines and no warnings need to be issued. Again, Sorry for all the issues and problems you are going through. Many of us do appreciate what you have done for the sport. Jerry
  19. Probably 15 to 20 years ago we rode to the casino parking lot by the old railbed. Parking lots have changed greatly over the years and back then it seem to be a long walk to the doors. I can't remember where the coat check is located as you don't to walk around with your gear on. As for parking truck and trailer it might be possible as I think RV's can park over night as long as you are gambling. We have parked at the Quality Inn on the highway off ramp in Orillia for the day and got a meal in the restaurant for the use of the parking spots. This was about 5 to 10 years ago. Jerry
  20. You are correct. I did purchase a year of additional service which provides extra features. Sharing for one.
  21. I have been experimenting with the Tile. I purchased the Tile Pro and had a friend put it in his RV and take to east Coast. Now, he didn't have the App on his phone so he was not tracking it for me. Other Tile users tracked it for me and I am very impressed with the results. At one point of the journey he was at the eastern point of the Gaspe Bay and it showed up on the App on my phone. Very isolated area and it was detected within 400m of someone's phone. I have now placed one in my sled and I'll be putting one in my trailer. Tiles are not that expensive at $40 for the Pro and the year of monitoring is $35. Works with Android and iOS Jerry
  22. That's sad news for the turtles that lived in that area, or did the turtles move to a new location?
  23. I was buying friends permit who is not computer savvy so i just muted the sound and continued listening to my music. I look at it as another disclaimer so when people are charged they will have no excuse that they were not informed. Sign of the times now where people won't take responsibility for their actions. Jerry
  24. There will also be collateral damage being done to the used sled owners needing service from a dealer. They won't have mechanics to work on these sleds if they are assembling new sled as parts come in. I sure hope I won't need any service on my 2015 sled. Knock on wood my sled 900ACE has been working flawlessly. Jerry
  25. No plans to attend. I get my fix attending the Peterborough show.
