  1. Buy for the now enjoyment, not the future......its a toy to have fun, not an investment. Assume loses, if you cannot stomach that, move on.

  2. Doesn’t matter if I buy new or used as long as nobody tells my wife whatever I buy or order or actually spend on this hobby i will live to see another day! Whats the Farmers Almanac say for next winter?

  3. It would depend on the sled I was buying. I'm only buying 4 strokes at this point so I wouldn't care whether it was 1 year or 4. If I was buying a boosted 2-stroke, I'd probably want all the warranty I could get.

  4. I would say the leftover 2024. They're paying interest on it. Also hurt new sales when left-overs are around. When I picked up my sons dirt bike - the dealer mentioned he was happy to see the left-overs go - but in the same breath said the massive incentives from the manu. were killing their ability to sell anything used - so he wanted the left-overs on that particular deal gone gone gone

  5. Exactly, why buy now and have your money tied up? I would expect a killer deal if I were to buy right now

  6. Thats all it is worth IMO. G4s are starting to become less desirable now that the G5 has been out for 2 seasons. From today onwards, you need to buy something based on the machine being another year older as you wont be able to use it until next season anyhow. 2022 Backcountry 850 XRS were selling for $14900 back in Nov . That 23 is only worth that next fall. I wouldnt bother tying up the money today unless I was buying something like that for $13K max.

  7. Wont see any OEM incentives until all the snow checks are over. They don't want to jeopardize they 2025 orders.

  8. Time to part with my well outfitted trail sled that is thoroughly maintained and has been completely dependable. Retired, original owner, sled stored in heated garage. Injectors have been cleaned, valves adjusted, shocks rebuilt, new drive axle, top gear. Skid frame pulled every season and bearings and bushings replaced, nothing left unchecked. Starts great any temperature. Don’t be worried about the mileage (33,000kms), this engine is bulletproof, and you will see all the suspension is completely restored to like new condition. Includes the following: Ice Attack Pre-Studded 137" Track Sport Mirrors HID Headlights Med and Tall Windshields Knee Pads Tunnel Stiffeners Engine Oil Block Heater Hand Muffs Heavy Duty Rear Bumper Trailer Hitch Rear Rack Rear Rack Bag Saddle Bags Tunnel Flares Visor Plugin BOP High Heat Thumb Lever Sled can be stored free near Pembroke until next season $6,700 obo.

  9. I think it depends on the sled. I personally wouldnt own an 850 without warranty. So its a tough resale. 600's i would buy/own without warranty, same with a 4 stroke. My 17 cat was a discounted left over with 1 year warranty and my 20 skidoo was a left over msrp with 2 years warranty. No trouble reselling them without warranty. Right now i'd be lucky to get $9k for my 23. Yikes. Market reactions will depend on if there's snow on the ground come next season too. Im waiting it out till the fall to make a move on a leftover 24.

  10. This place was suggested by a friend. Its where my buddy and I stayed last weekend. Its not your normal hotel. Apparently, it was a funeral home that was converted. All the rooms are suites. 1, 2 or 3 bedroom. They all have full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and sink. All worked great. Cupboards are stocked with plates and a couple glasses, cutlery and regular utensils, pots and pans, etc. Furniture includes a small dining table with 2 chairs, a small couch and 1 lounge chair. Bathrooms have tub/shower. Bedrooms in ours had double beds with foam mattresses. There was a good size Smart TV with Bell Satelite box but very few channels. It is connected to the internet. Wifi internet in all the rooms. Over all, the unit was clean with fresh painted walls and newer carpet through out. Cupboards and cabinets were like new condition. The furniture was, how ever, beaten to crap. The lounge chair had the back broken off on 1 side and the foam on the arms fell inside the armrests. Same deal with the couch. The foam seat pad was crushed to the point where you were sitting on the frame after 5 minutes. Beds were small. I did see online something about queens but we didn't care on this trip. Cost was cheap though. 1 bedroom was $90/night, we had a 2 bedroom at $120/night, 3 bedroom was $150/night. These prices are for booking on their own booking site. Expedia.ca and other sites were a bit more. This is only a 1 story building so all rooms are on the main floor. There were pop and treats machines, no ice machine (but the manager did find a cube tray for us). There is no front desk. The manager lives onsite and has an office at the rear of the building. Plenty of parking out back for trucks and trailers. The Inn is located across the road from the sled trail. One last mention. They have a strange cancellation policy. They require 14 days to cancel. If not they charge you your full fee plus $25. If they end up renting out your room then they refund you a portion. If you book through Expedia.ca or other sites, you can likely get 72 hours cancellation, but as mentioned, at a higher price.

  11. Not even close to enough. Now, the dealer could add on top of that - but not a lot - since they don't have a lot of room in them anyway. Manu's need to step up or they'll be following Yamaha within 5 years

  12. They do not want to take a bloodbath either. Dealers are going to suffer. 12% on floor plan. Plus reduced profit if they have to offer a discount. I wonder if a dealer would prefer you buy a leftover 2024 at discount or Snowcheck a 2025? How firm will manufacturers be on forcing inventory on dealers?

  13. Down ward pressure on prices but I haven't seen any killer deals. Sleds deprecate whether they are driven or not. Just afraid to buy a new one and half value dispears in two years 😮

  16. I would say that it completely depends on what incentives there are on the non currents. The rebates need to be pretty big. 4 year warranty is nice to have. tech is meh

  18. As I get older a more advanced suspension starts to be more and more important. Even quebec seems to be rougher than I remember (latest trip to Mont Valin). As long as it doesn't impact handling I'd be willing to spend the extra for the DS for sure. My wife has a Cat with the iAct but it adjusts all the dampers together which I feel is the weak point of that system. P seems to have delivered something special here.

  19. Yes, I added a few accessories but it still would need carbides, studs, freight, and taxes. About $39k on the trail and there's still more that can be done/added.
