  1. We ran Amos to Matagami and back yesterday. I was about 10km out from gas when the sled started coughing. Dumped in some of the linqs gas. Took 35litrs to fill in matagami. Minty the whole way up! No restaurant open on sundays in matagami. Food stuff at gas station we heated up later at warm up shack. Came back down same way. Dumped all gas in at lower warm up shelter. Still took 35 litres in amos. Fast running and chewing fuel with 2 900T's. All trails in great shape. Dinner at st.huberts. The river crossing is fine in amos but still shows closed. Heading back to Temis today and will update tonight. One of the riders on the abitibi map cover sure looks very familiar lol!

  2. 425 on the clock today from hotel jardin to kanawata. First part of trail enroute to relais22 was rough but remainder was mint. trail out of wemotaci should be closed, horrible stretch, than 30 or so km of logging, than mint.

  3. Kanawata to clova, around 255. 83 to parent was good. 83 closer to clova had some thin sections, especially the area that had forest fires this past summer from I assume combination of logging now going on and lack of wind protection with so many trees burnt up….quite a bit of damage caused by the fires. A few pictures, beauty day with the bright sun and cold.

  5. The 900t's are better on fuel. On the way up one of them started coughing when mine did 10kms out. On the way back we all used more fuel and it was tight for running out. Those trails are perfect for the turbo's. I just let em eat lol and stay back out of the snow dust.

  6. I installed this kit on my 900TR and finally got a chance to try it out. so far, very good and very happy with it, with no issues and anyone looking to add some more jam and much better throttle response, this is a great kit, awesome performance gains and I think for a reasonable price.

  7. Be careful, Heard on the radio yesterday there was a bad auto-motorcyle collision in Toronto (2-18-24). Scarborough, according to 680 News. Thought to myself - biker in February? Drivers are soooo bad in Toronto, add February bikers to the mix. And I get it re: bikers getting out. Saw some in January as well.

  8. No real knowledge on current conditions. I can tell you this. Haliburton Lake has some currents in it and is typically one of the later lakes to be safe. I cut holes in Skootamattta Lake yesterday. Its is one of the earlier lakes to freeze and is a similar distance north with similar weather patterns. We have 7" in the area the stake line runs. Typically for 3rd week of February that would be well over 16". I've seen over 24" some years. So no good data, but my guess is the later lakes to freeze like Muskoka, Haliburton, Chandos, Mazinaw etc may not get there this year. Could be wrong, but thats my 2 cents. If in doubt, don't go or go check yourself before crossing. Not worth the risk. Hopefully someone who is local and on that lake can give you some better info.

  11. Didn't you put her on (through) a Viper before that? Maybe that was someone else. Most, but not all the sledding wives, I have ridden with were very happy when they finally got a 600 class sled after years of 800s. This is even more so true for anyone now on a Poo 650 - all most will need. Lots of women were on 800/850 sleds because the male partner bought the sleds and he wanted a back-up to his sled.

  14. Im thinking the same, lighter and easier to ride. I think they would keep up fine other than long lakes.

  15. I ride an 850 and all of my buddies run 900Rs. My 850 used slightly less fuel than the 900Rs on our last trip to Quebec.

  17. How’s your 6 keeping up with the 900 on the big trails? I’m loving my 900 on the trails we are running….other than the wooped sections…lol the McX kit is great improvement.

  18. That looks great, thank you for some inside info! A group of will be heading there coming Saturday for 8 days! We will try to stay out of alma st Jean areas. We may head north of lac st Jean through valin around tudussac to saugaunay then down Mt apical and stay at la tuque. I hope they get snow, but does not look promising.

  22. No pictures, but ran from chiboug to lac st Jean, only trails that were real thin were the ones about 50 km outside of LSJ, this area needs some snow! usually no issues running down the sidewalk full of snow to get gas, this year, it’s bare. parking lot at hotel is bare also. Rest of trail was great. Around 290km. Hoping as we head south west tomorrow, they have more snow.

  24. Better get at it while you can. Right behind it is warmer air, going to be 36 here in Michigan (directly west of your storm area) on Sunday, and 50 by Wednesday and long term forecast is 50-55, 10-14 days out with lots of overnights above freezing, and rain some days. Not trying to be a dick, just letting you know to watch the long term, in case you think you have a week or two, or more to enjoy the riding, and are thinking about putting it off a bit. Make hay while the sun is shining. Good luck to all, get some riding in. Me, Ima be in a walleye boat on the Saginaw Bay, or Saginaw river, for next week. Lots of big girls in the system right now. 29. I predict that it will get cold, snow, snow will melt, then warm, then showers, then get really warm, followed by a gradual cooling off period and then cold with snow......................
