    • As long as we all learn from these lessons, and no one is hurt, it is all good.   Once we started riding the far north with no towns for great distances, we adopted the, you are responsible for the headlight behind you "rule". If you lose a headlight, you slow until you see a light at least. If you dont see it slowing down, you stop for a "reasonable" amount of time. Once that time is up, you go back slowly on the far right, looking for the person. We stop and regroup at all main turns or corridors. I have chewed many an ass for leaving people on the trail behind, in our group, and groups we come across.    It is especially important up there... The golden rule (1 hour to get to medical help,) in an emergency medical situation is already hard enough, with the distances, and no cell coverage. It is easy and fast to become a statistic. Can you imagine losing a friend on the trail and having to explain to the family, wife, etc... what happened? I cannot fathom it.    I am glad everything worked out. Ski
    • Another new way to ruin someone’s day!! Saw this near Foleyet last week. See where the stick is in the pics? The stick was an uncut sapling on a new trail section. Groomer bent it over to 45 degrees, and then the stick hit an oncoming sled. It punctured the side panel, went right through the oil tank, then severed the wiring harness up behind the secondary clutch. Their trip was done!!
    • I have to admit, I am a bad group leader even though I lead 90% of the time.
