    • One man is dead and another injured following a harrowing rescue operation Monday afternoon when two snowmobilers fell into icy waters at Bay Lake in Latchford. Yesterday at 3:10 p.m.Temiskaming OPP, along with the North East Region Emergency Response Team, responded to a call involving three snowmobilers travelling on Bay Lake. Two of the snowmobilers broke through the ice and became trapped in the freezing water. "After a courageous and coordinated effort by several rescuers, both individuals were pulled from the water and transported to hospital," said Acting Sergeant Martin Thibault. "Despite lifesaving efforts, one of the snowmobilers was pronounced deceased at hospital. The second individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries." Additional emergency resources were deployed, including the Latchford Fire Department, the Temiskaming Shores Fire Department and its Ice Water Rescue Team and drone, as well as Ornge air ambulance.  The OPP reminds all outdoor enthusiasts to exercise extreme caution when travelling on frozen waterways. Ice conditions can be unpredictable, and checking ice thickness and safety before venturing out is essential.
    • Ordered ours on the October 28th, numbers are 27891 and 892. Was able to pick them up today from the PO Box in town. Havent been to the house since October 31st. Ski
    • Lots of VR (virtual riders) still sitting behind the keyboard lol.
    • Looks great @Blackstar my buddy went out today and did about 140kms and also said there was hardly anyone out there, which is kinda weird
    • Put on 100 miles today in this area. Trails were wind blown with drifting. Lots of fluff, plowing through the corners and spin for miles, no base. Hopefully the rain forecast for next week settles the snow and freezes it solid. I don’t remember trails ever opening with this good of conditions. A bit of dirt/grass showing near the Conestogo clubhouse from traffic. Speaking of traffic, where was everybody?  We were expecting large groups at every turn. Didn’t even feel like a regular Saturday. Stopped for fuel in Atwood, no sleds in sight.   I showed this pic to a friend this afternoon and said how much HP in there?   Awesome start to the season!
