Just remember "young fella" :-), as we age, our mind continues to tell us to do things that our body can't back-up. I've also watched some of his new videos, did you see the one where is buddy is at the bottom of a 20ft hole\with cold water and it takes the 3 of them almost all day to get him out.. I'm way too old and broken for that stuff. When i lived in Alberta, a friend would go to the mountains to ride, then one year all 5 of them got down into a bowl, which required a helicopter lift out, at $700\pop (20+ years ago price). I'm good with the boring Ontario north trails, or Gaspse. I'd do New Brunswick again, without the rain this time.
Cheers
az..
That's what they are saying poor conditions and gravel and wash outs. They said it be better once they get some more snow and cold. Face book reports on trail are awesome. I was impressed about thier honesty. Way different then in past.
Carden club was mismanaged along with District 8 from what I have heard. Everyone is hush hush about it at a district and OFSC level. I suspect something really bad happened if they don't talk about it and hope it goes away.
Carden ran like an old boys club and not accepting any help from locals. (That I know is a fact) Locals from Kirkfield offered many times to help out and they were refused or ignored. Now the club is gone and there are people I would think like to take it over and get the trails open again. Its in the hands of locals and District 2.
The mandate from OFSC is no new trails may be created without special permission. I was trying to get a trail from Beaverton/ Woodville area back to Kirkfield (Carden trails) but my district is saying it must be approved. I need to do all the leg work to find new route, sign agreements and then present to district. No time and not taking the chance they will reject the trail due to the "no new trail mandate"
Homestead use to let me park. I call during Covid and they said only guests staying there, can park. I haven't tried since. Normally I just drive up in morning eat in restaurant go for a ride and then have a light supper back on road. They use to have tons of trailer parking. I think you mentioned trail into there wasn't good no more.
There was some road running on that stretch before. We use to always get lost and miss trail exit off road. One night we couldn't find it and was snowing hard so we just rode highway back to Owen sound. This was almost 20 years ago.
