manotickmike
March trip to Ian's where we were met with perfect temps, BLUE skies, and virtually empty, pristine trails. Diane had the time of her life, and it shows. Thanks to Ian and Cathy, Missing Link and Mattawa clubs.

They are very smart and their hearing and sense of smell is amazing. The few times you may see one is if they are protecting their kill.
gobills
Quick question what's a timber wolf? There are gray wolves in ontario. Seeing the size of what I saw I would say it was a pure wolf not crossed with anything.

Timber Wolf is gray with white and black markings and is the biggest and most cunning of all the wolf breeds in Canada. If you say it was a very large wolf then it was probably a Timber. They also have a very large footprint.
Ox
Got scratchers? Hopefully good ones - not those cable drive jobbies! I've seen a cpl of wolves on the trail a long time ago. One black and one grey - walking together - going the other way at a T intersection. Got a pic and left them alone. Never seen a partridge in the winter tho. But boy have I been given "what for" by one mamma west of Dubreuilville after I stopped to let her git her brood out of the way one summer! And never seen a lynx at all! I see pics from all kinds of folks, but I have never seen one! Seen an otter, but never a beaver or mink when out sledding.
