  1. Blowing around a bit in the country but starting to get more even coverage now. Supposed to warm up to 0 in Kitchener at 1 AM. Hopefully damp enough to set and stay.
  2. I agree with Stoney on spraying the steel axle and bracketry. Everything that I have read on the topic says any type of plastic or rubber can be used to separate the dissimilar metals. Just needs to be a material that will not deteriorate with age.
  3. The section that is closed has been one of the last sections to open over the last few years.
  4. Lafond Towing and Recovery Ltd. Pierre Lafond at Sturgeon Falls 705-753-5456
  5. Just a note re: Taylor 5 Concession. When heading up Monahan Road watch for Taylor 5 Concession ON YOUR LEFT. Taylor 5 Concession actually goes off to your right in 2 spots before you actually get to the left turn for it that you want.
  6. After reading your original post this morning, I looked at the ITG and the whole section was still red. Since lunch time, the section west of Hwy.11 has gone to yellow. You can get around the red section if you don't mind running roads. When you leave Matheson, stay on Monahan Road until you get to Taylor 5 Concession and turn left onto it. Stay on Taylor 5 Concession and about 3 km. west of highway 11 it becomes the A trail.
  7. Sorry to highjack the Sudbury thread. Just as an update, As of yesterday, my buddy said that from what they could see from Hwy 63, Trout Lake was frozen over and there were some stakes on the ice near the Portage.
  8. What you have heard would sure make sense. I have been watching the ITG wondering what was happening with it.
  9. Isn't it crazy that someone will purchase a successful business, paying a premium because it is successful and then change the success formula. Restaurants are famous for this. Pay a big buck and then change the menu.
  10. Wow that's very strange. My good friend has a cottage on Lake Nosbonsing about 14 km. south of Trout Lake and the sleds are running on it. Its about 60-70% the size of Trout Lake in terms of water surface area.
  11. Likely not spreading out at SRF when the C is closed and the trail to the Canyon goes red 1/2 way up, more likely at Moonbeam.
  12. I just got the paper that comes with the permit out and read it. It says nothing about the sticker only being valid if you have the receipt with it. What it does say is the permit is only valid if it is attached to the snowmobile it is issued for.
  13. Easier and cheaper to just check it when you have the wheel/tire broken to clean the bead. JMHO
  14. Do a search from scratch on Amazon.ca. There are a number of more expensive makes and models that by description would be more suited to snowmobiling. BEWARE OF DIFFERENCES IN SIZING CHARTS ON VARIOUS MODELS OF THE GLOVES ON AMAZON.CA.
  15. The sizing guide would put me 2 sizes smaller than the sled gloves I wear now. I wonder what they mean by 1 Adapter with Cable in the Included components section? Is an adapter the same as a charger??
  16. For the price of the XL's they would be worth a try. It mentions motorcycles in the description but not sleds.
  17. A big Thank You to Bearnecessities who spent many many hours dealing with Landowners, Grand River Conservation Authority and most days during prep and construction at the site of the low level bridge replacement without which the re route would not have been possible. A big Thank You to our club president Reiner who's relationship with the farmers and landowners really helped this project along.
  18. If anyone try's these I would like to know how they fit size wise compared to unheated sled gloves.
  19. I didn't know you could get steel wheels on a Vette.
  20. Wow Bill, that is an incredible story and you are to be commended. Your personal strength and will power will no doubt help you succeed against this current set back. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
  21. I haven't been stopped in a few years and when I had been, paperwork they asked to see was ownership and insurance only.
  22. GOOGLE : mt. Laurier hot tub accomodations
  23. I guess I'm missing something because I don't see anything you needed to apologize for.
  24. Totally agree. Most sleds now have clocks or some type of constant electrical draw all. Leaving the sled in the trailer in the off season and not on a tender or at least charging it on a regular basis is not a long life scenario for the battery. I used to take one cable off the battery but the last few sleds required too many pieces removed to even get to the battery. One of the guys in our group has a mini battery pack that he carries along.
