LOL I pointed it out to the guys. It looks like Mike Holmes could use it as a project house. I told the NCDN regulars that the reason they had never seen it before was their speed didnt allow for sightseeing.

There is basically 2 two foot wide tread sections with what looked like nothing between them. I expected the usual 4 inch drop to the center boards, but there was nothing there. Scary when you have slowed down and find that half the sled is about to be over a huge hole. I hit the throttle and bounced off the far side pretty crooked, but OK. Could have been nasty. Didn't get a picture going over SJ? Thanks for the pics and travelogue revrnd - good to follow along.

LOL Went by there this morning on our way south, 3 rigs parked in the lot. 233 klicks to T-C-P, including riding the Genier Loop. A106C was freshly groomed. TOP C North needed grooming (being done tonight). L25 and TOP C West groomed Thur' night. TOP C South 4 or 5 inches of snow since last grooming. Gogama had groomed up to the old Post 392 turnoff. revrnd
Last full day on the snow. Arrived in Elk Lake around 5. 246 klicks. TOP C was good to the A107C intersection. A107C was OK to Gowganda. It was pretty rough the rest of the way to Elk Lake. Going by signage on Mattagami Lake, Minakwa Lodge is the gas stop there, no longer the FN. tricky
revrnd, thanks for the informative trip report and photos. I was out tripping the RAN+ this past week, and without a smart device, I wasn't following in real time. Your photos might be as close as I get to the Big Loop this winter, unfortunately. I can't help but notice that only one of the three Blizzards has the original TS skis (unless just the front loops were changed in one case). Looks like a set of split rails and maybe traditional Pilots. What do you all feel about the TS skis versus the changes made? What engines are in the other two Blizzards? Fuel comparisons? Thanks again.
revrnd
Checked in @ the Econo Lodge in New Liskeard. Not chancing the weather 'down south' +1* right now. We left Elk Lake @ 9:15 & got here @ 12:18. Considering the horrible visibility & drifting that is very good time for 87 klicks. Running the railbed between the rail bridge & Club Echo clubhouse, you couldn't see the trail since it was blowing & snowing so bad. My glasses fogged up so I ran the rest of the way 'blind'. Some signage issues on the TOP A reroute near Uno Park Rd. My skis are the TS Pilots w/ yellow loops. The skis on irREVerent's Blizzard are stock. The Split Rails are on reLeaf's sled. All 3 are 900ACEs. I ran in Standard mode while the other 2 usually ran in Sport. I seemed to take less gas @ the fillups. There was a bit if a mileage experiment going on yesterday as reLeaf ran from Timmins to Gowganda before filling (skipping T-C-P). He had a Linq tank so he had a reserve. After the low fuel light came on, he ran 60 klicks to Gowganda where he took 38 L. Not sure off the top if my head what that distance would be. Talking to friends in North Bay last night & they said the forecast for there today was freezing rain. Snow has stopped here an hour or so ago.
catinental couch
My friend in North Bay says she had no hydro this morning. Freezing rain was blamed. Snowing and windy in downtown Carling now. Wife says there is a crosswind off the bay in excess of 25 mph and snowing. She is on the 400 south of Mactier.
