Btbt
We used to go there at least once a year, they always gave accurate trail reports, if conditions weren't great they would tell you.Should have a discount for early season when not all trails and lake trails not open..Hate driving 3 hours to ride on thin snow and rocks for fifty bucks. Viperules700
If people didn't go they would not be in business. They use to charge 35 to ride early. I have gone a few times early. I have family in the area, so just use to show up and if it was ok, go ride. I like the area and they do get allot of family's that buy season passes that live close by. Always snow in there and no roads, so it stays well. I always go in on poker run day, best day to go. It Is a blast!

Cat800ltd
IMO after riding yesterday, they should still be pre season pricing. Many of the trails are still closed. Flooded out sections along grief road and east road at the bottom of the park, downed trees completely blocking the trails etc. the girl at the booth told us all trails were open except the lakes obviously. So needless to say we were turned around a lot on some of the smaller trails. That bein said. The main trails were in decent shape. Should be even better today and tomorrow with the steady swualls we were getting yesterday.

AdamGamble
Rode the Forest Yesterday, place was packed but it is actually amazing how little sleds you encounter while riding. Conditions were below mid season average but main routes especially once you got away from base was good! When I havnt really had a chance to ride since last year the 50$ doesn't mean a thing I've realized 2 things I can't buy.. Snow and Time. Had a blast
jrhz06
Rode the Forest today. Trails were in great condition. There might have been a total of 20-30 sleds there today.
monte1214
Wonder what the last 5 days has done to the "trails" in there? Can anyone chime in with accurate info?
jrhz06
Someone posted on FB that the trails were pretty much just mud by the end of Saturday. It rained all day Sunday then got really cold and unfortunately the Haliburton area hasn't gotten much more than a centimetre or two since yesterday. Hopefully we get some snow in the next few days as conditions were great before the weekend.

Dogan
We went to the forest a week ago and it was decent for an early season ride but you definitely have to take what they say with a grain of salt. There was a very thin base and only the main trails had seen a groomer. Many of the secondary trails has seen no maintenance and were moguls, mud holes and had impassable trees across them in some cases. It was still a good day for us but you have to remember that they are marketing specialists and look to grab their $$ in the early season when the OFSC has nothing going on. Would I go there again next year early season? If they're the only game in town, then heck ya.
jrhz06
We haven't gotten much snow since the weekend, maybe an inch since Sunday. I'd like to head back to the Forest also but there's no way that they have enough snow, yet. From the webcam you can see some people are there and riding. Hopefully they post the conditions. Only give refunds if trails are closed, which Is almost never.
