  1. Buddy, our government has zero interest in any manufacturing of any kind if it results in one drop of pollution. The environment is more important than the people living in it.
  2. Won't get to do mine until things with Covid settle down - they are at my parents place and they are in their 70's - so staying put and not putting them at risk.
  3. That sled is beautiful -if you have the money and time to ride it - just do it! I know I would
  4. Just because they were not groomed to perfection in your mind means they should be closed-marked red? its an off road sport, green means go, red is closed - for 20 plus years we drove up every weekend without knowing what, if anything was available, you rode what was there, how it was. groomer goes down, should we airlift in a replacement from the massive warehouse holding a fleet of groomers just sitting there doing nothing? peoples expectations are messed up, it is what it is, if you don't like a little sense of adventure or my goodness, have to endure some rough trail or adversity, find another hobby and stop shitting on the 3 or 4 people who worked hard to provide anything at all for people to ride.
  5. Hit Du Ya Wanna for the day today, top notch as always, very very lucky to have such a great club and dedicated people around us.
  6. Who cares if they changed insurance providers or not, bottom line is whomever the carrier is and the OFSC required a change ( and for good reason I might add), made the change, and did a crap job communicating it and getting it out there.
  7. This is squarely on the OFSC, they make the agreement. good luck guys
  8. crap for brains comes to mind. will be the death of sledding
  9. Have over 2000 bucks tied up in my 2012 sled and my outdoor skating rink this winter. not looking like either will get used. Starting to hate winter, more so cause it's doesn't happen anymore, I love winter and hate having no way to enjoy it.
  10. Watch the documentary and have a look at the burns that old lady sustained, you may have a different opinion afterwards
  11. Suits need to be tried on, no way would ever just buy it online. follow Yukons advice
  12. In a very, very broad broad sense, but there is plenty of case law on these subjects and hence why lawyers love these claims and they exist is the 10's of thousands, they will bring them against, and to challenge the Occupiers liability act, municipal, act etc.... Ask the OFSC how much it costs every year defending these claims. the point is, they are forced to defend these actions, right or wrong, which is not cheap.
  13. I hear what you are saying and completely understand, but 20 years in the casualty claims field I will tell you that if that is what the landowner wants, your permit price will need to quadruple at the very least to offer such coverage. like you, if I was a landowner I would take the same position, if I am at the ofsc table, I am taking theirs on this one, no way I would be opening that door to anything but our user group.
  14. I agree, but the answer is not having the ofsc provide liability coverage and defend and pay claims for non members, i.e. Non permit buyers. It's time for the other user groups to start paying their way. The trail closures are what hurt the most, but the ofsc are taking the right stand on this and I support it.
  15. Guys, agreements, leases etc evolve and change with the times like everything else. i highly doubt anyone here would want their own personal insurance providing endless coverage to people it should not be and I for one am glad the ofsc and their carrier closed off this egregious open area of blanket coverage to users it's not intended too. we, us pass purchasers pay for that, we pay now, and we will pay later.
  16. Snowmobiles have suspension, very good suspensions actually, if you're expectation is tabletop all day everyday, I would recommend you quit now and find another hobby.
  17. Saw a ton of trucks and trailers heading north yesterday, any riding is good riding folks.
  18. I am in the stage of kids sports taking priority, I have a pass for this season but looking like the track will not turn a mile. i am just glad that I got to ride all those miles and years I did prior and am hopeful there will be somewhere left to ride when I can return, which will be in about 7 more years.
  19. They already are self insured, it's called a deductible.
  20. I have never had the plate decal, custom numbers and Val on the hood somewhere close
  21. Over the last 3 years, I have spent on average a thousand dollars a season and gone less than 500 miles over those years. looking at our hockey schedule, for the first time in over 20 years, I am seriously considering no permit and yanking the insurance too for this year.
  22. Don't disagree, just saying by doing so, you open pandoras box to the freeloading asshats
  23. Should be private and only accessible with a code provided with permit purchase
  24. My son is 9 and rides an Indy Lite, we govern the throttle but he handles it very well and loves it
