      Not seeing any good deals on a Patriot 9R XCR 129. 30g's after taxes is a little insane.

      I've never had and issue with conventional studs that wasnt self inflicted. Not really meant for excavating or stump grinding. I run 180 studs on 129 tracks. Heavy on rotation but pull like a Clydesdale. I prefer pull over top speed. I ran an ice ripper on a 2018 Blizzard 600 the wife mostly rode. Not bad for sliding the sled through corners but lacked in acceleration and stopping power. I rode last season completely studless for the first time in years. Thats some fun riding for sure but creates alot of "Oh Shyte" moments. Not a fan of the ass end trying to pass the front end. If you tend to be aggressive in the tight stuff, studs will save your life over and over.  A heavily studded track requires you check track tension, idlers and overall rear suspension more frequently but most riders do that anyway. Be prepared for more vibes and noise.
