    • Any growth is great. More people in this sport the better it is for everyone. It take a few good winters to get things back on track. Xmas break is huge sleds will fly off shelves, if trails open by then. Permits will sell too at full price. I think 30 percent is attainable this winter across province, if we get a good Xmas break. Lots of sleds sitting un permitted last year. If people can ride during holidays they get permitted for sure 👌
    • There is positive momentum no doubt that was grossly needed with the general attitude the year started with of trail losses, equipment losses and a deficit.....especially when you consider how good last year was for so many regions. I think it would be safe to say that the early permit sale increases occurred before the grant was issued and trails were being lost - this is great to see and was it a result of how good last year was or the communication about the lack of money/trail closures or other......but that higher number of permits sold at a discounted price, may have only made matters worse as the year unfolded and it turns out to be a great season. My comments as well were not intended to take away from the positives or focus on the negatives, but at the same time and what Spidy I think is also calling out, where is the OFSC going to be as a whole mid or end of season or start of next season to mitigate the roller coaster, have a better business plan - there is a huge chunk of change on the table, self funded but also now included is public money for this year to remove that black hole, so I think it is good for the OFSC and the optics to look ahead and communicate the intended plan to try and prevent a repeat of events. I think is safe to say we all feel as though a grant should be issued each year based on what sledders add to the Ontario economy on so many levels - so it is easier to budget if you know upfront you will expect to see x dollars on this date, if not, permits fees go up by x or the other talks about val tag revenues going to the system, etc.... vs. wait for the bottom to fall out so to speak to get some crumbs after people are deflated.
    • Any know the current status of the Delawana Inn  , Honey Harbour .
    • I never suggested it did as I know the total for the year will not increase 40%. The huge increase is a positive which will create momentum while also making volunteers realize that what they have been doing is worthwhile especially this season with all the early negatives and all the work to be done in reinstating trails.
    • I just looked, not currently listed on Realtor.ca  Was listed in March last year, but no current listing.
