  1. There are some very very nice and solid all welded aluminum hulls for big water. King Fisher, Henley, and many others. In BC you see many on the big water. A .01 riveted aluminum is the most basic small lake fishing hull, they used to be even thinner. Lund a premium priced brand still uses rivets. Pass.
  2. Ya, I drive it about 18k per year. My issue is I like to run it in sports mode instead of eco. I do not really care about fuel economy. In regards to trail pass cost, ride the sled 250kms at 16l per 100 40 liters of fuel at 1.80 is 72 bucks in fuel per day, add in a 30 dollar lunch and you are at 100 bucks to ride per day, ride 10 days and that makes the pass 25% of the cost to ride, never mind travel maintenance and depreciation on the sled plus loss of capital gain off the money spent on the trailer and sled. most likley the total cost of the permit is less than 8% of the total cost to sled. in the big picture, 500 bucks for an ofsc pass would be just fine.
  3. Really. I just put 120 liters in my pick up, over 200 bucks, good for a few days.
  4. I have seen many truckloads of ski doos running west over the past 2 months. looks like doo buyers should be getting their new rides in good time.
  5. If it comes with a tow pckg from factory I suspect it will do fine. Max rating usually means you need trailer brakes.

Exactly. We rode 5 days this year. I would happily pay 300 for that. Skiing is well over 100 per day per person. Fuel in truck to get to our destination was same cost as 2 permits, 1 trip, air bnb was 5 permits, food and beverages, 5 permits.
  7. I think the viper is a way better option. The cat handles better and no Turbo.
  8. I am surprised at the number of folks buying 90hp sleds. Even though for trail duty the power is more than suffice, sledders are men and men like power even if they do not need it.
  9. dealers most likely faking orders to get full allocations, who knows, the way they are selling these things is crazy imo.
  10. Ya well you would be wrong because the only available order right now is the mountain sleds.

I was going to spring for a 24 sidewinder. We rode once for a week this year and that is all. . Now having second thoughts. However if I do buy, it may be my last and would be low mile after 5 years.

I think they are developing a new 850..900 and it is not ready for 2025, you will see it in 2025. The 4 stroke may not fit in there at all.
  13. Looks like an awesome trip. My mother in law lives in longlac, the trails might make the trip worth it.
  14. Those are so cool. I should have kept all the maps over the years. Kudos.
  15. Well all great things must end. Our week in skead has been phenomenal. Our air bnb hosts Luke and Shelly are simply awesome. Highly suggest anyone looking to ride here consider Birch Forest Beauty listed 9n air bnb. Thanks to all volunteers in district 12, as usual the trails were perfection. Obviously we will be back. Pic's from our final day.

The 600 sport is a solid reliable machine. She will be happy with it.
  17. I have had good results with slim jims.
  18. Today the girls rode alone while my bud and me did some work at his gfs camp.
  19. Rode to Cartier today. We are running out of skead. Groomer was just out, trails were fantastic, as good as sledding gets anywhere in the world. There is a ton of snow in sudbury. I you are looking for a great place to stay PM me and I will give details on where we are, 2 minutes and you are on the big lake and bnb hosts are club volunteers.
  20. Lots of places have that, however the by laws I have read stated that you are exempt if traveling to your home.
  21. Having a blast here in Suds. Trails have great snow, have not been south of the big lake yet... Accomodations are great. Our hosts are terrific people. Had a small issue with the sled and they were very helpful. The air bnb is nice and comfy on a lovely property with great trail access.
