    • What makes you think QC and NB are in better shape ?  If you only rode in Districts 11,12,13,14,15 and 17 you'd likely think all was well in Ontario too lol   Spend a few winters riding the south shore of QC and talk to the clubs there, same for south of Fredericton NB lol
    • On the surface ON appears to be in a lot worse shape vs QC and NB though.  But IMO that has a lot to do with ON mentality vs mentality of QC and NB…along with a bunch of other factors. But I was referring to the storm of what has gone on around us the last few years and its impact.
    • Not at all, but it could be a lot worse, could be better too. But it's a no brainer why we are where are right now.    For anyone to think the OFSC and snowmobiling in general could be bullet proof no matter the weather, economy, ridership attitudes .....ect is foolish  😎
    • So, are you saying sunny ways, nutter…😂
    • The OFSC can carry a surplus, however same as clubs used to do when they held their own permit dollars, they use portions of the surplus for infrastructure improvements, and/or squirrel some away for emergencies. Now since Frame Work for Change and More On Snow funding models were implemented, all surplus is managed by the volunteer OFSC Board Of Governors on behalf of the clubs. That was done to stop the days of clubs run by 3 or 4 guys voting each other in each season, sitting on a $100-$200k, being accused of things like paying Billy's cousins brother $65k for 3 days of backhoe work, or purchasing 1400 hours worth of fuel from the land owner that also runs a fuel depot but only grooming 450 hours  lol    The catch with all none profit groups that always have their hand out for outside grant money, municipal, regional, provincial or federal, is not to have to big surpluses. You have to show the need for the grants, even if your none profit is huge economic engine, you can't ask for more if you already have a nice extra nest egg.    No one, not one single person could of predicted that last season was going to be the best snow season Ontario has seen in 30+ years, and that inflation would out pace it's self like never seen in our generation and tank the economy this bad. Add in the Trump factor for good measure too ...... lol
