The government gets "something" - there is no way you'll convince me they are involved literally for $0.00 return. Even if it's true, it will never be my truth  lol   There is no reason for the MTO to be involved. You get your plate and reg. from them - but so what, that has nothing to do with a permit, other than to get the permit - they get their cut ( licence and tag required ).......   Get rid of them.    If grant money only flows if the MTO is involved - I would love to hear why that needs to be? explain it. How/why is someone holding that over your head?    Agreed 100% the sport can't exist w/o grants - simply impossible. But being handled like a 2 year old - you can only have this if you give me/do this..... frig that - grow up.   Personally, I don't care if we have policing on the trails or not. I know it's a non negotiable I am sure from the insurance stand point, but I don't care if they are there or not.     

They won't want/like this because then they have to manage those funds all year. The way they have it set up now - they get the bulk of their funds October/November/December, before riding season happens - and then I assume issue transfer payments to districts for distribution - and then work from there with the pot that is left etc.   it would require them to change how they do things   Not saying it could not work - it absolutely could and does for almost every business out there - but they may not be set up like that either and doing so may not be as easy as one would think.   Just my guess though

I think taller people where knee pads,  shin guards, to protect knees when riding aggressively, from banging them up against front of sled. I am a shorter guy so I don't have that problem 

The vest I get, but shin guards? Why? I mean, If you get hit in the legs by something, shin guards arent going to provide much protection unless you are worried about getting slapped by a passing tree branch. Just curious.

People will buy a two day pass and ride 3 days or maybe 4. It's happening now. Add a day on each side of pass date and roll dice. I am buying my permits this month. I just waited to help ofsc abit and wanted mail to run abit smoother too.   I always thought a monthly payment would be way to go. Everything that way now, why not just offer it instead of huge discount. Maybe 40 dollar discount with monthly payments, deadline oct 31. Then make it 4 or 5 payments from November to March.  What's a 55 dollar monthly payment. Most won't even notice that. Make it automatic recurring until cancelled to save time and money.  anything that help put more onto snow 👌
