  1. Yup. Count them. Not the best pic, but I'm sure it was taken quickly.
  2. Sad part here, is that if there were an election, Sock Boy would get his majority. If you think things are FUBAR now..... This is the power of propaganda. Controlling the media is the first step to fascism. It's an old, well worn playbook. It's old, because it works. I just HATE the thought of having to explain to the next generation why we didn't do more to prevent this irreparable mess. I'm already ashamed.
  3. I'll happily sign a waiver. Agreeing that like everything else in life, it's a risk. I refuse to stay home. Please stop with the ridiculous PSAs stating I am to stay home except for groceries and doctors appointments. I am too old to spend the rest of my days hiding under my bed. Like Gord said, "No dress rehearsal, this is our life". If you wish to stay home, great. More room out there for me.
  4. I completely understand the highway user has the right of way in this situation, but I for one would like to see "CAUTION signs at trail crossings. I suspect the reason they're not always there is the cost. If a city/municipality/province put the sign up, it would likely cost thousands, a club volunteer would pound one in for $0.00.
  5. Not about $ it's about politics and public opinion. It's trendy to police when there's "issues" the rest of the time, like Firefighters, you need flames to get an appearance. Demanding day to day enforcement is a job for each and every one of us. I live on a road with a 60k speed limit. The "traffic calming" waste of taxpayer dollars registers an average of 80+. The ONLY time I see a patrol or "speed trap" is when I get on the phone. Officers in attendance will tell you exactly the same thing. If you want something done, call and bitch. Question excuses. Take names. Done.
  6. I maintain that if our government and every single person on the public payroll were granted the CRB "benefit" in lieu of a salary the edicts would be a LOT different. It would be pretty hard to lead a province/country into battle while you were being fragged by your own troops. It's a simple task to convince everyone they were doing the "right" thing while none were financially affected. Ever sit in on a union meeting?
  7. I just don't get it. Anyone actually VISIT Mattawa? Walk ONE street back of Main? The area is pretty much circling the drain. It can use EVERY tourism dime it can get. Some clown wielding power granted by a loophole to curry public favour, driven by a fearmongering (to secure government funding and to sell ad space) media, is a disappointment, to say the least. Sadly, if this town were to be left to it's own financial devices, it would be another abandoned town along 17. Pitiful.
  8. Can't blame Dr. (whateverhisnameis) Can't let Dr. Phil. and Dr. Tam have all the attention. I just feel sorry for the NB area sledders. God forbid they should leave that area and ride elsewhere. That would be wrong.
  9. I've only got one life to live, and I don't think I'll spend it in hiding. Everyone seems to have an opinion, a saviour, a solution. A vaccine. This is evolution. A lot of what's going on makes no sense, and I thank those of us concerned enough to ask questions, and condemn those who feel it's OK to shut down questions and opinions of dissent. We need strong intelligent leadership that makes sense right now, and anyone who believes we're getting it has lost my attention.
  10. I don't know which part of that statement is more laughable. No offense, but no.
  11. Many local volunteers are discouraged by lack of enforcement. It's a chicken and egg thing. Imagine spending time brushing, cleaning, signing, staking and schmoozing to get a trail, and then losing it over one A-hole, and there's not a damn thing you can do. Even reported trespassers are not followed up on. Hardly an activity you'd find many people lining up for. Martyrs maybe. Give them some teeth, and a chance to protect their club's investment, and see what happens to volunteerism. Or, just keep up the status quo.
  12. Or Motorola... Ipone has a strawberry scented oil. Their 2T bike oil is VERY highly rated. I just use it in my KTM to annoy fellow riders on occasion. Some guys fart in an elevator, I use Ipone.
  13. Taxation without representation. Ask your local OPP Patrol how many are out on sleds in your district. If you can find one. Report back.
  14. Quebec enforcement is SO strong, it's a powerful deterrent even when you don't see a patrol for days. I have been stopped at several excellent locations, where there is no option to turn and run. Staffed by as many as 6 officers. Also stopped by club officials at intersections and checked for all paperwork. Nobody is running annoying aftermarket exhaust. I have seen sleds on tow trucks. They take things seriously in Quebec. It's BIG business. For every $ the government invests, it's repaid several times over. Here, MTO takes our $, tax is paid on insurance, and we get no viable enforcement. And we're prevented for self policing. Anybody who thinks this is sustainable is seriously lacking.
  15. I sold 4 bikes this summer. Would have been crazy to keep them. One of them I quadrupled my $ on, after 6 years of ownership, including parts... I was moving, and had had my fun with them buying, refurbishing them, riding them... And then they got very occasional use as buddy bikes, backups, or vacation trips to Crown Land where there's no hassles riding. Still have my #1 bike. (KTM 300XC ) I'm literally days from studding it and riding it if the weather doesn't change.
  16. Lot of barns in that area too. Some are smaller than that sign...
  17. I had the radio on in the shop today, prepping a sled... I hardly listen to any commercial media anymore, it's just too fraught with propaganda.. I was amazed to hear essentially this: (cut/n/pasted from Ontario.ca) Ontarians should stay home to the fullest extent possible Trips outside of the home should be limited and only for essential purposes (accessing health care and medication, grocery shopping, child care, exercise alone or people in your household (the people you live with) and in the community where you live, walking pets when required, and supporting vulnerable community members to meet the needs above. Seriously? As in, are we supposed to take this seriously?
  18. Big increase in the number of sledders, Big snow drought, "pandemic" restrictions..... Same level of enforcement as last year, According to the provincial officers I spoke to last year, 2 sleds (one patrol) in all of District 1. Ottawa, 2 sleds, (one patrol). There's a reason rules and laws are ignored. Virtually zero enforcement.
  19. That what SHE said! Sorry, Soup. I just couldn't help it. Thanks for the reports...
  20. One of the groups of shots released by the PM's official photographer. At our expense. This and another one of him wandering around in a circle looking stressed. It's a heavy burden he bears is the message he's trying to convey. Finally, the drama training pays off. The "blackface" addition is a meme, likely from one of the many fed up with his crap.
