  1. GRCA did not plow the roads the last time I was at the BIL's cottage. GRCA did not want anyone staying there in the winter. They would keep track of how many days a cottage was occupied. There was a big fight at one time between cottage owners and the GRCA about rent and winter use. I think the cottage owners won. Cottage owners would plow into their cottages themselves and that cause a fight as well. We would park on the side of a road and sled in. Snow plow would plow the vehicles in then too. It was a good starting place at the turn of the century but I got sick of all the problems and the alcoholism so I just stay away.
  2. I have one on my Dakota and my neighbor has one on his brand new Tacoma. They are used on the trucks I see every morning going past me WOT on the 401 east bound for the GTA with only one person in the thing getting 12 l/100km while I get 7 l/100 in my Sonata. Neither one of us are carrying anything but our own a$$es.
  3. Hmmmm. "Follow Road to Trail" seems to contradict that.
  4. Can anyone elaborate on the Kirkland Lake Microtel? Is there a restaurant there for dinner or just a continental breakfast ? Anywhere else to eat in walking distance ? Easy trail access ?
  5. 1995 Arctic Cat Wildcat 700 EFI at the North Adventure Inn in 2001. Note the low rider look. Many years later and it's my mod sled with lots more travel front and back and a 43" front ski stance. Still running today.
  6. Sounds to me that the Superclamps are legal then. I won't worry about front ratchet straps anymore. That code is worded so that ski cross bars are mandatory. I don't read any OR straps at four corners.
  7. What does the MTO have to say about Superclamps ? I'm sure those devices are not in their code book.
  8. I think you could be in trouble if stopped by the MTO. I think they want to see the working load limit of 1 strap being able to lift the entire machine. Not to mention the hooks probably need to have safety latches now. I use Super clamps on the front and two ratchet straps on the back to hold the sled back/down. As well on a long trip, I use an additional ratchet strap on the front to hold the sled in case I get stopped.
  9. I would think by now the D5 and some D9 people have just given up unless they intend to trailer every weekend.
  10. I had the training for the AED. Found out you need to cut off the nipple rings before you let it loose on the body. I just hope there is someone else that knows how to use it on me !
  11. I just picked my permits out of the mailbox 19 minutes ago.
  12. OK, Looks like this is going to turn into a Procross Chassis re-engineering thread. Since most people don't want to deal with this, I will start a new thread in the Tech Tips area where it belongs. Procross guys follow alone. Others need not be bothered.
  13. Compare prices. J&T's price is American plus $52 us to ship. By the time you get the parts, pay in cad, and pay the post office $37.55 for HST, you will be paying $415 cad for the small wheels, more for the 8" wheels. So check with dealers here for the full price of the both kits.
  14. I use these from J&T ATV in LaPeer, Michigan.
  15. Agreed. I have re-engineered all the stupid stuff and have a great heavy sled. But I am too old and sore to be jumping driveways anyway.
  16. You don't need it for a few weeks or so.
  17. No. D&D is now Eclipse Automation. Go back and look at previous posts.
  18. You are correct sir. I knew it changed to something last time I was past it.
  19. Power House Controls used to be D&D Automation. I worked with some of their guys on robot projects many years ago.
